ripping apart children's plastic chopsticks is not what you're supposed to do. link broke it permanently. it should've been even more difficult for him to use after he broke it since he made it into 2 uneven "sticks" with the weight of them different from each other. children's chopsticks are connected at the end with a space in between the "sticks" to make it easier for a young child to handle. you'll be more likely to have used children's chopsticks if your asian parents use chopsticks more than forks and consider it part of their culture and get a child's version for you because they want you to be able to learn at a young age so that you'll be able to use real unconnected chopsticks in the future.
