Honestly Holy Grail is probably only challenged for the title of "intentionally made funny funniest movie ever" by other Monty Python movies.

- Santa Christ is a recurring character, first appearing in his review of the Star Wars Christmas Special. Not sure if you noticed but his whole segment was a parody from Lord of the Ring (Assuming you've even seen those movies)
- Schwarzenegger baby is from a movie called Junior. Where Arnold Schwarzenegger get's pregnant. Yea that was a thing
He says he has seen all of the Middle-earth movies, but he didn't get the skit of the DVD being a stand-in for The One Ring
Also, he looks like Chart Guy because both characters are played by his brother Rob.

Also, I'm pretty sure that DVD came fine out of the fire because they shot that scene in reverse. It looks a bit warped in the fire, and straightens out as it comes out.

I find it weird that some people don't realise that Doug is playing a character in the reviews, for his non character stuff, check out Doug reviews and nc first viewing.
Sadly, the same thing has been known to happen with James Rolfe. I just wish certain people would learn that they are supposed to ACT angry. It's all part of their style of comedy.
Some say Son of the Mask was the true cause of the current era's first Honkai eruption, killing billions and unleashing disease, monsters, and ecological disasters untold upon the world.

As someone that Loves Jim Carrey and the Mask Movie,this Movie is a disgusting disgrace to the Comics and the Movie that you can tell that this Movie was made by the Corruption of Hollywood,the most Evil of Directors and Producers that mentioning their Names is a Sin,and A Construct of the Demons of the Bottomless Pits of the 10 Hells,I love Cat in the Hat and even I would never watch Son of the Mask,got to the CZcams Channel Revenge of the Mask,they did it much better than this Abomination.

The "course it's a good idea!" reference with Odin as a head in the sky is for Monty Python and the Holy Grail, a cult classic British comedy that's basically required viewing for nerd culture. As for blaming the devil for the third season, that was a reviewer formerly in Doug's company who focused on My Little Pony at the height of the brony phenomenon. It ended on a big twist because the creators didn't think they'd get renewed, and a vocal part of the fanbase went nuts. Not a bad season actually, compared to the rest, and the show ran another six seasons after that.
How do I know this? I research what interests me, and bronies at the time were impossible to ignore
Steven Wright was a comedian who had the shtick of being really low energy, monotone, etc. So that's where that joke came from.

As everyone's already explained how the version you're watching if different from the original version, I'll instead mention another one of Nostalgia Critic's reviews that had been altered several times.
Ghost Rider. Without going into spoilers, there's an extra clip at the end that was removed at one point and then put back in.
I know this because I personally downloaded the review not long after it first came out and found the clip missing having to go searching CZcams for that clip and downloading it separately, since it was a long while before it was put back into the video.

For once this wasn't a copyright issue he just reviewed Son of the Mask first I might be wrong on this part but I think it was because he was doing some kind of theme month on sequels, he's actually made 3 videos on the Mask, this review, a review of the first film and "Was The Mask Supposed to be Gory?
" which is a video discussing the comics the Mask films are based on, and the differences between the two, the comics have a lot more dark and twisted humour then the fun Jim Carrey first film.

Nice Video as always, if you're interested there's a side series he does as the Nostalgia Critic called "Old VS New" that's pretty good, comparing what works and doesnt work between an Older adaptation and a newer adaptation.
If you're interested in it, two i highly reccomend are "Old VS New Lord of the Rings" and "Old VS New Spiderman"

If I could remove a movie from existence, I would actually pick Mulan 2. I've watched bad movies, but that is the only movie I've ever seen that made me actually angry at how it butchered the characters and themes of the original movie for a complete waste of time plot that ultimately goes nowhere and accomplishes nothing.

@@theduckgoesmoo So like around 9 or 10 I would start getting really painful chest pains, similar to a heart attack. I would lose my breath, my heart would start pounding super fast, my chest felt like it was being squeezed, a few times I fell to the floor in tears cause I was pretty sure I was dying. They never lasted long, like less than a minute & I would be totally fine. Eventually I let someone know about it & I go to the doctor but they find nothing wrong. I weny to seven doctors within 7 years & had many tests done, Blood tests, Blood pressure, treadmill, ECG, MRI, Ultrsound, no one ever found anything wrong. They don't happen as often anymore, thank goodness, but they do happen on occasion.
This review reminds me of some of the others you need to look over.

The Vanilla Ice reference. ["Save this movie!!!"] There's a movie called Cool As Ice that NC reviewed where Vanilla Ice is the main character and it's one of the most 90s movies you'll ever see.
Then the Schwarzenegger baby... Ugh! NC did an entire month of looking at some of his movies including Commando, Junior [Which is where the baby comes from], the Conan movies and End of Days [Where Santa Christ makes another appearance]
And The Cell which is an insane piece of filmmaking.

I used to love the movie, I didn't think it was bad and that's mostly thanks to being ignorant and having HF Autism, still though I don't know how to understand why people hate it or how they feel. Also I just watched whatever there was and I didn't watch the first movie before it so it kinda makes it impossible for me to relate to others, I do however acknowledge Jim and I can sort of get why people love him but now with his iteration of Eggman and watching the Sonic movie, I see his comedy there.
Edit:Well actually I loved the Grinch movie with him so I already know he's a funny guy so I don't know what to think anymore.

The movie I would remove is garbage pail kids. I may have only seen the review but it was enough to know what true evil was. I would think that if Evilena was a thing when he made that review he would have thrown in a joke about how even satan would be disgusted by the movie

The Mask being uploaded much later isn't a copyright thing, it's just that he didn't review the original movie until recently. Doug doesn't typically review movies in order, or even do the entire franchise/series of movies. Also, Doug tends to prioritize doing bad movies over good ones because those review have more potential for comedy since he, you know, hates the bad ones for obvious reasons.

The Garbage Pale Kids is what I remove from this world. Never actually see the movie, just the review that Doug did. That alone was enough to despise that abomination of a film.
My siblings and I watched this movie a lot as kids.

Santa Christ comes from him reviewing the Star Wars Holiday Special. Something so bad George Lucas wants to make sure no one ever sees it again. It is the the worst thing he has had to review.

I might be one of the few people that actually enjoyed Son of the Mask. Also, somehow I'm surprised yet not surprised that you don't know about Monty Python. Originally called Monty Python's Flying Circus, Monty Python is a collection of sketches that came from England that started around 1969. Since then, they've made movies including Life of Brian and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. In fact, Monty Python and the Holy Grail became so popular, that there's a musical based off of it called Spamalot.
