"Jaleos Extremenos"
My second version of "Jaleos Extremenos" and a great duet with Ivan Vargas, bailaor from Granada. This performance is "Spanish Fire" in Victoria, BC, Canada. The music is by Stephanie Pedraza and Jafelin Helten (cantaoras) with Miguel Ramos de Puerta Real (guitar) and Davide Sampaolo (cajon). Choreography by Ivan Vargas & myself.
Living away from Spain, sometimes it is difficult to proceed with palos such as Jaleos because it is such a specific form of bulerias with abandolao groove and letras from the region of Extremadura, Spain. Of course, living in Canada sometimes this information is hard to come by which is why working with incredible guest artists is always a treat, to overcome great hurdles.
