I want to drop a comment to thank you for unlocking some 'mysteries' for me. I have an oldie as well. 530. Tho not as crusty. But old. And it's a gasoline powered job. I went from the original Kohler to a 670 predator Vtwin. It's going to need some axle and chain case work eventually so to me dropping the whole geartrain is the ticket. 👍
I am loving your video's. WOW what a lot of work. It has turned into a complete pull down. you might as well keep going and do a full disassemble and fix what needs fixing and paint it.
I had a 642b and a 643 in similar shape. They were good projects. Watch out for some of the aftermarket parts they dont fit very well. Keep at it and build your channel!

Needle scaler lots of degreaser and rust conversion paint is in your future. Good job!!
