My husband and I stayed at the Crillon in the 1980's for one night. We told them it was our anniversary and, although we'd booked their least expensive room, they upgrade us to a Deluxe Suite with a balcony over-looking Place de la Concord!
Que maravilhoso você relatar isso❤ amo ir à lugares que tem pessoas de bom coração e com objetivo de surpreender 🎉pessoas
I was night manager at the Crillon back in 1972/3 and have very fond memories of conversations with David Niven, Andy Warhol (he took my photo with an SX70 polaroid, signed it and gave it to me) Gloria Swanson, Lee Kuan Yew and various others. Back then a double room was 270 francs per night and suites from 320 francs upward. Lots of stories!
Thanks for sharing!
Timoteophillips Tell all the gossips.
Oh please we would all love to hear your stories . working in such a magnificent palace hotel
This was wonderful. I did not stay there, but, during the summer of 1969,
while studying at the Sorbonne, I used to take the Metro and then sit on
the edge of one of the fountains watching the lights come on all.over Paris.
It was magical. Then a walk down le Champs and then back to Cite Universitaire.
I shall never forget the spell of Paris.
I stayed at the Hotel de Crillon in the 1990s twice, for business reunions. My first time was in a smaller suite I enjoyed immensely the service and everything the Hotel offer is always done perfectly to the Hotel's reputation. The second time I resided in a larger suite facing the Place de la Concorde, it was again for business, and it was for 30 days. The company I work for indeed made the reservations for me and both times when you are guests in this magnificent Hotel you are treated like Royalty. I can't no longer travel but nonetheless, they are in grave into my memory.
Which company did you work for? I’d love to work for that company too 😊
When we stayed there in the spring of 1988 it was a faded, worn relic of days gone by. ISTR that Les Ambassadeurs was not just a bar, but an elegant full-service restaurant, and that my birthday celebration dinner was the best part of our stay.
There is one important thing missing here and that is the smell of Paris, especially in the morning. It is gorgeous and uniquee. And it is this perfume of light moist, dust, faded exhaust fumes, faint mists of fresh bakery, fresh coffee, burned hot chocolate, a whiff of an elegant young lady going to work in Quartier 5 or 6 mixed with the odor of the first Gauloise cigarette smoked by the old man at the corner who used to be a street mason, which is Paris and which makes a croissant eaten in Paris so much tastier than the same croissant elsewhere.
What a gem of a comment!
@@christinearmington Thanks. I just put in words my experience. In the 1990's I knew Paris better than my own city.
Don't forget the stench of piss in the metro, the oud from north African and Arab immigrants, the mustiness of the old wood buildings that don't have air conditioning, the smell of burning meat wafting from the back kitchens of the bistros mixing with the cigarette smoke from the patrons enjoying the warm weather out front, and the pungent aroma of alcohol floating down the Seine from the countless liquor bottles. Ahh Paris, no other city like it.
@@kogepannyanko I smell misery from this comment.
I was wondering what it smelled like....
I am, as ever, enormously impressed by the quality of both the cinematography and the editing. From a quick read of other's comments that feeling is pretty much universal and very well deserved.
Thank you so much for your kind comment!
@@luxurytravelexpert have you been to the George V?
that swimming pool is a work of art surrounded by more art, just stunning. that 3-D wall art at 12:50 is just awe inspiring, I could spend a lot of time just walking back and forth looking at it.
I would be too afraid to swim and accidentally splash some artwork lolz
Our family spent our first night in Europe there, in late January of 1964. Frankly, at the time, "decaying grandeur" would have been a good description; it was tired, faded, and, at least in our room, with a serious cockroach problem. We referred to it as the "Creep-on" for years thereafter. Glad to see it's been restored to live up to its reputation.
Great story! This is not so surprising considering that a lot of major European cities were incredibly run down especially after WWII.
about the same experience, a few years later in the early 70s I think during a weekend in Paris: worn grandeur then; now it's an eclectic paradise with fantasized styles
We stayed shortly before it was closed for renovation to become what it is today. We had a mouse in our room. So they quickly put us in a fantastic suite overlooking the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing. Absolutely beautiful. Gracious response to an unfortunate incident . We went for drinks after the refurbishment a few years later. Still very beautiful. Couldn’t help but to compare it to original splendor. It compares very well. Stunning
It is not what it whose 🤞
Several years ago, on my first of many visits to Paris, we stayed at Hotel de Crillon! An experience I will always treasure. We had a fabulous suite on the top floor on the front. I still remember dinners in Les Ambassadeurs, and the champagne corks flying off our balcony into the Place de la Concorde.
Luxery by simplicity & perfect like always 🙏👌
Here we didn’t see the new decoration yet it looks in this video 👌
Wow sounds amazing! What do you for work to be able to afford it?
Lucky you!!! So nice ...
When I was a young student we went to the famous Crillon for lunch and we were pretty excited. Especially because Bernard Tapie (sadly just deceased) was sitting at the next table. It was a great experience.
The luxury travel expert never failed to mesmerized. Every travellers around the world will check and experience. Bravo
Your video skills have improved incredibly over the years and I can even notice a huge difference from this shoot and beginning of covid. Even the way you correspond the music with the clips. Incredible job!
Thank you for your kind comment :-)
This hotel is so beautiful so elegant its like an extension to the Louvre. The more I see of Paris in my opinion the coty itself is an art gallery and this hotel fits right in I think its 5 star all the way Thanks
This post is so soothing, tranquil and relaxing - a feast for the senses - such an elegant and beautiful property which oozes beauty and low key grandeur. I could never hope to afford a stay in such a posh hotel but this video really gives one a sense of the atmosphere and service one might expect if they might stay a few nights (or weeks). Just wonderful, really. Thank you!
The interiors are just brilliant Omg I’m dazed now lol
I stayed at the Hotel de Crillon before the major renovation began. I was with my two children and we had a suite. The stay was wonderful, the hotel, while not yet renovated, magnificently elegant and the service from the staff absolutely charming and professional.
Wow sounds amazing! What do you for work to be able to afford it?
@@owenthomas4337 before the renovation, the prices (while not cheap) were much lower
Je suis émerveillé par l architecture de cet hôtel et aussi de son luxe merveilleux
Historical, Timeless Elegance, With A Contemporary Twist. Simply One Of The Best!
I stayed there 40 year’s ago and what a difference. I liked it then as well. Perhaps next time I stay there again.thank you this was interesting
Thank you. This was an exquisite tour of an exquisite hotel. One can only dream! Loved all the footage. ❤️
What an amazing hotel! 🤩 Dr., thanks for sharing with us this beautiful work of art.
When reality exceeds expectations...
Infiniment merci! ❤🇨🇵🤗
Even the music you score the videos with is always perfect. Once again, a little slice of heaven.
Stayed here many years ago. It was “marvelous”magnificent and elegant🌺
La sophistication distinguée à la Française 👌 Thank you The Luxury Travel Expert ♥️
Such an exquisite, tasteful (and respectful) overview of Paris's most stately Palace hotel.
Your videos are always great, but this one is absolutely next level. A superb presentation of a truly magnificent Hotel. Now if only I could afford to stay there :)
Wow steady hand with phone. Much much admired. You are so lucky.
The company Caroline Rose Hunt founded is second to none in hospitality. She would be so proud to see this masterpiece. Outstanding video, Doctor…thank you 🥂
Thank you for this lovely glimpse of Paris.
I had to laugh, you said that the palace attracted heads of state as well as the huge courtyard out front
during the Revolution:)
I just had to laugh "gallows'" humor or not.
Rik
I have been in Paris several times Ive been in front of the Crillon like a poor kid outside Disneyland but dreaming it is a magnificent building
Absolutely splendid! I hope to stay at this hotel one day. Thanks for the relaxing video!
Your filming technics improve from videos to videos. Smoth and delicate. Great job.
I’ve never been to Paris, so this was a delight! If you ever come to COlorado, stay at the Broadmore Hotel in COlorado Springs. It’s an American expression of Western Art and luxury.
A beautiful visit to be enjoyed again and again; merci beaucoup!
I'm totally speechless.....
Overwhelmed.
Superb presentation of a Great Hotel. Thank you -
Thank you so much for such a lovely video. So enjoyable.
This is a different level of luxury!
Thank you, so so very much. I watched from the southern-most tip of Africa and I was so enthralled by this video. All your vlogs are special, but this one was spectacular!!!!! Just wonderful. I shall travel there on my honeymoon. ⚘
Awesome video man ❤️❤️❤️... Cheers to your contents really enjoying
Great video once again. I like it very much. Thank you.👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
I'm so excited to watch this video.....
I had “afternoon tea“ ok, Champagne, back around 2010 and it was lovely for that!🍾🥂🥂
You are by far the Master of Luxury Travel. Your work is outstanding, showing us the world of luxury with discretion.
Super stunning Video, Fantastic ( Great Hotel to Stay )
Beautiful hotel. Sometime in the early 80’s I had become obsessed with this hotel because I was under the notion that the film Julia, with Jane Fonda, was used as a location for the film.
I was wrong of course, Le Meurice was the hotel, but I ended up staying a weekend at Crillion. Best ‘mistake’ I ever made and the proximity to the Tuileries, well that alone makes the stay memorable.
The one I had a problem there was looking for toilets, all else I love the history
Searching for hotels in which I've stayed _(for business),_ I found your channel. Your "Inside" looks are gorgeous presentations and perfectly informative - transportive really.
It's great to browse such a luxury hotel in France. Gorgeous.😀👍👍
What a beautiful hotel ❤️ wonderful video as usual. I liked your cameo appearance à la Hitchcock. 😉
I can watch this video every day just to get positive energy.thank you very much ,I wish you all the happiness.Gordan.
Thank you for sharing. That's a very beautiful place.
Excellent videography and editing! I have been subscribed to your channel since the pandemic and can not thank you enough for boosting my spirits here in NYC throughout! I have travelled extensively on every habitable continent and now have a "short list" of additional travel plans once all of this is over! Many thanks!
Thank you for your subscription and watching
It's beautiful... but the Ritz still has my heart.
Thank you for your excellent video - I enjoy the virtual holidays.
I love the ambience of this hotel.
Love the view and the stroll at the Tuileries Gardens❤️🌹
Tank you for this New relaxing vidéo!👍 awsome hôtel !!
Excellent hotel immersion, as always. I look forward to your return to Madrid so that you can immerse us in the three new super-luxury hotels that have recently been inaugurated or renovated.
Me too. I recently checked out the Four Seasons there- it is breathtaking!
I’ve always stayed at the Palace Hotel in Madrid. If there is one that is better, I would love to hear about it! It’s kind of hard to beat the impressive Skydome room in the Palace however
@@thisplaceisnuts i absolutely love the staff at the Palace. Been there once.
@Adam Efimoff Really great! They are very caring and have a casual politeness i enjoy a lot. I don't like to be treated like royalty just because i am a customer. I want to feel mutual respect.
Fabulous in each way! Nothing can outdo !
Always ready and happy to see a Paris based video.
Simply Beautiful and VERY ELEGANT LOOKING HOTEL. THE PINNACLE OF LUXURY HOTEL WITHOUT A DOUBT.
Your videos are so perfect. Thank you
Thank you for another amazing video ! I love the background music you play in your videos. Can you share details of the music in your videos as well?
I was mesmerized by every inch of video. Good work.
My wife and I stayed at the Crillon in ‘98 and had a wonderful experience! One of the world’s greatest hotels, without any doubt.
When we stayed at the Crillon in ‘98 it was owned by the Tattinger family and was the essence of understated, refined luxury. The hotel is now one of a number operating under the Starwood brand. Starwood is owned by the Saudis and the Saudis have no concept of understatement. The redo of the Crillon by Starwood is a great example. The redo has managed to suck the very life out of what was once a great hotel. Very sad.
Rosewood not Starwood…oops.
😉
Outstanding. Thanks 🙏❤️
thank you...just beautiful...greatly appreciated...
After my jocular comments below, I must say that this is one of the most beautiful and serene luxury hotels I
have ever seen featured on your site or anywhere. I loved it!
Bravo,

Very nice camera work, commentary and details offers a superb viewing. Thanks
Pure artwork !
The building across the street from your room is the American embassy.
Just got back from Paris on the 30th of July, stayed here. It was a lovely experience.
Always enjoy your videos.❤️🌹
Lovely hotel, with a classic and decadent style and color palette. I also liked the art that could be seen at the reception. As always, you have made an inspiring and beautiful video.💗😘
Well Done!
Stayed at Rosewood Hotels before. Perfection is their standard! Cheers!
Beautiful hotel and wonderful video of it! There are so many things I would love to replicate in a home for myself....the colour palette, the quiet elegance, the simplicity of understated beauty. A pleasure to watch your videos, always. Thank you!
Thanks for the extraordinary adventure
Beautiful.
I appreciate your effort.
Beautiful video. You used to share the price you paid for your stays and excursions. I'd love to have that information included with each video again.
tax declaration next ?
showing the prices would only ruin the fantasy of being there. once you know the price its devastating to keep watching while knowing very well you might not afford staying there
Great Job !
Thank you so much, Stay safe and God Bless !
Beautiful.. have a great weekend 😀 😊 😎
My favorite in Paris. Best location!
Great video
Du machst wirklich wundervolle, unaufgeregte und sehr informative Filme in bester Qualität. Vielen Dank.
Awesome!! Thank you!! The winter garden decor was the best for my taste, not so much the bar or the brasserie
Lovely hotel , dishes are much better with descriptions x
Sehr schöner Beitrag! Vielen Dank!
Exquisite. Handheld gimbal camera, nicely done.
Stunning hotel 🤍🤍🤍good video to watch 🎥

I love that you show, more than tell. Like the best tellers of stories in film.
I have got quite a few of my friends onto your videos - they may start saying "oh, not another influencer" but they end delighted and wanting to see more. Some are inspired to go there, and can. Some cannot, but are charmed by your discreet yet lovely footage.
