March 12, 2021 Ellis Lewin Passed Away (age 88 years old).
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OHIO
Ellis was an Auschwitz Survivor and spoke to many school groups to carry the “NEVER AGAIN” message. God Bless, God Speed and Rest In Peace Macher.
I was sadden to hear of your passing
March 12, 2021 at the age of 88! I am humbled at the humility and grace you survivors exhibit in the face of all you have endured. Your testimonies are powerful and needed to prevent this from ever happening again!
I worked with Sam Kelman in childcare in Pennsylvania. Also a remarkable man and very good with this interview. It's different to hear a child's perception of this catastrophe. I can only imagine the anger at all that was suffered and all that was taken. God bless these people and their families who will carry these scars into the future. This would change all of your life permanently. Amazing how survivors have resumed their connection with humanity and gone on to love and achieve and raise another generation in a healthy way. Remarkable.
Being German I utterly despise my grandfather and large parts of his generation. At the same time I cannot imagine any person I could have more respect for that a such a fine gentleman finding the strength to share his valuable memory. What he describes and what he went through will remain an eternal personal obligation especially to every German to actively fight any racism and especially antisemitism.
Dear brother German... I am descended from Germans myself. Ive met your fellow countrymen 2 x outside USA and they were hands down the rudest people ive ever met, openly insulting others in front of them. I was shocked by behaviors. But also i know some wonderful Deutschlanders as well. I think the pride and hatred for others is something generational in your nation. Hatred is what allowed everyone to participate in the bloodsed of the past few hundred years. I think and pray your nation has a revival to return to humility and repentance and kindness as they were called to be, a people of love, not hate and pride.
Respect to you.
We should all remember this and make sure that NEVER AGAIN.
It's hard to fathom for many, but we live in a world where there are those who walk among us who have absolutely no normal human conscience. They're only looking for a reason to release their hatred toward humanity.
It is so helpful that each person brings something unique to these interviews!
i can not know the pain of your suffering....thank you so much for your testimony
It's such an Honour listening to your story, taking the time to Honestly relay the events as they were, the impacts of Uncertainty a long with the psychological toll. Thank you very much.
Damn, he looks absolutely marvelous or being 64.
So young looking. I am sorry to hear of his suffering.
Lots of love goes out to all of the victims and their families
Such a privilege listening to the testimony of Ellis ❤️ ✊
This is our history. It must not be forgotten. We become better men by learning from our past. If we try to change or rewrite our history, we will repeat it. We owe our elders this debt. Never forget. Learn from our past. God bless.
God Bless you God Bless All The Beautiful Jewish People❤️🙏🌹
Thank you for your interview. This is the first time I was introduced to how difficult life was prior to the invasions .... which is also such an important part of history. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to listen to you.
Thank you so much sharing your recall . You have such strength and humanity. Your measured and calm telling made it even more horrific and touchingly real . A true survivor attitude in life . Thank you again
thank you for your story Ellis..
Rest in peace Mr. Ellis Lewin. I will forever be grateful for your contribution to the show foundation into society itself. Thank you for your service and God forever, protect your family and keep them in peace for eternity.
That man looks pretty remarkable for his age. I’d only hope to look so young at 64.
I would have guessed 45-55, looks great.
Interviewer: Well how do you know?
Elias: I WAS THERE!!
Hanane Blanton 😂 iKr
interviewer is a bit naive..
Bad question!
The interviewer has the most horrible and annoying voice of an interviewer I have ever heard.
I guess he was supposed to quote “experts’ opinion”? wait, I am thinking too much of today’s “expert” deification.
He is still here with us Legion Normandy! ~ Thanks ~
How is he now? My grandpa is a survivor of aushwitz also from łodz and he will be 96 in july!
Such a wonderful interview! We must keep informing present and future generations.
@Dennis Lewin God bless you and your family 💜
My he Rest In Peace
Mr. Lewin was very patient with this interview. His account is very frightening. Watching others die: no emotion left to express. Eternal shame to all the heartless, despicable people who witnessed this and did nothing. May he be at peace from this cruel world and loss.
Educated people dont act like that calling them jew etc umm all but one of the einsatzgruppen leaders had doctorate degrees one had 2 Dr Dr I get what he is saying but it needs to be remembered that it was the most educated who led the charge in the holocaust. Education cannot be confused with morals and ethics
I'm am in tears. So much tragedy inflicted upon other human beings. The good Lord must be looking down upon his creation with deep sadness.
May God bless and comfort you.
Thank you for telling your story. So many years later and especially with the world in the current state of chaos, your words have great value and inspiration. I wish you peace and love with much respect 🌻
Praise the Lord for this very wise gentleman, an incredible man x thank you for the privilege of seeing and hearing your witness testimonial, the most powerful one I've heard, God forbid we ever forget x our Lord God bless you and your beautiful family x much love and God bless from the UK xx
🌹Thank you for your testimony🌈💚💛💚
I am thankful that Mr. Lewis shared his life experiences that was tragic, hurtful, and deplorable but with resilience and God's grace came through it. God blessed his remaining family. Thank you Mr. Kellman for interviewing him.
Out of all the survivor stories I have heard this the most important and historical.
Absolutely phenomenal speaker and an amazing human being. If one watched this video and not be humbled, I would wonder if they had a soul. I feel like I don’t have the right to imagine his or any other Holocaust survivors or Dion they went through I feel like I don’t even have the right to imagine what they all went through. I’m 51 years old, and I can honestly say that my life between the age of eight years old to 25 years old was something unimaginable after watching many of these beautiful videos I will never feel or think the same way about the era in mine life again, with exception for my dear four siblings. The Shoah Foundation brought together so many, races, religions, generations, together as one. The disporia , desolation, , division, , distraction, that these demonic demons placed upon this sect of people is still absolutely baffling to me and above wall. Extremely frustrating to a vengeful point that some got away with it . The dispirited soulless devils soldiers lost in the end. They will lose in the end each and every time. G-d always wins. G-D said vengeance is mine. The most beautiful thing out of all the videos I’ve viewed is the noticeable kind spirited people. After all they’ve been through after all, they’ve witnessed after all they had to deal with with every every sense in their body they had to see everything they had to feel everything they had to smell everything yet they still moved on in life and became someone with purpose with meaning with a family with children and grandchildren their face light up, their eyes light up when they start talking about their family these videos should be shown in every institution across the world in every classroom and every church sitter gone please share, and thank you show a foundation for all you’ve done for humanity. I pray something like this never happens, and I world again I reside in Italy half the year and the other half in the United States, and I had to say if I ever see anything an inkling of something like this meandering in to a race a religion, I will be the very first one up, and swinging to the death I hope and pray that everyone heeds any warning any signs they see to fight for your fellow man or woman child, so that nothing on earth happens to any of us like it did to the beautiful Jewish people . G-d be with us all..
Thank you for publishing these videos.
I watch this thru tears. Im so sorry that you, your family and so many had to go thru all this torture. May you have peace in your eternal resting place. Bless You Dear Sir🙏🤍✨
I have listened to many of these testimonies and from this one, I have learned of more new information about, for example, the wooden shoes had nails that would hurt their feet, the specific details were valuable information about his torture, the trains, etc etc. I am so sorry this happened to all survivors and to endure this horrible treatment is astounding.
Along with being unique , every interview enlighten us on new experiences.
Thank you. I will take your story with me in my heart.
So glad you made it
😢 it's hard to watch these interviews. God bless you all. ❤❤❤
What a good looking man he is and just to imagine what you been through being a jew myself polish background this makes me sad
Great testimony
Hell of a story. Hell of a life. Bless him.
So sorry prayers for all
I am so sorry
Your Mother was so brave
Very strong honest brave man, he service the evil, straight from Hell. Bless you injoy your children and grandchildren, heal the best you can with their love . Yahweh Sees all , Thank you for being brave enough to share and keep their lives alive, you are a amazing strong soul. Your testimony will reach out to the pain in life , that keep fighting for life. 💪
He Survived, and sharing his story will reach out to the Hurting. Amen for you
i ave tried to read more about the survivors from Treblinka camp ,but only two were known ,yet in the revolt that took place ,it is said ,they were many, what happened to others .Samuel Willenberg was one of them ,but the rest are not recorded anywhere .kato -from uganda
You was so brave
I have listened to many of these testimonies and I have learned of more new information about, for example, the wooden shoes had nails that would hurt their feet, the specific details were valuable information about his torture.
I wish Kelman asked more questions about his dad
Why does the interviewer stop him when he is talking about their liberation and getting typhoid? This was very frustrating and broke
up a very important moment. Better training
is needed.
Well , there comes a time, when we hear about participants still being found, that the thought is to turn away from vengeance and just leave it alone after 60 years.
Yet, it is true the victims were hunted to death, taken to die, murdered, man woman child.
You realise too many got away with it anyway. I can understand this man's belief at the end of punishing those who had their day of evil.
So sad. ❤
It is great, I'm a non Jew, but we need family and different traditions.... so beautiful ❤️👨👩👦
R.I.P Ellis
❤️
33:10 interesting to hear the comment about the sound of falling bombs staying in his memory
One of my school teachers grew up during the blitz in London. A classmate made the whistle sound of a falling bomb and my teacher disappeared under his desk and eventually was helped out, shaking and terrified
Needless to say my classmate was ‘disciplined’ by the rest of us after school
Thats my man!
44:50 ❤️😢
Wish I heard about his dad
" Oh My GOD. " 🅰️🅰️🅰️
The GUILT of the German people will live for a thousand years for what they did to Jews and the World.
Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)
Unfortunately it wasn't just the German people who did these things. It was often the community's that they previously lived in that are also to blame .
ALL gentiles are in guilt, we shall defeat all gentile anti semites.
@@Hn-gz5iw pathetic
Hey can à yone. Remix this great interview and remove Mr kelmans nreztjeing in the f... Mic and lower his voice it f... Bothers me I want to hear Mr lewin
Nice
interviewer's mike too loud!
So sad that you did not rekindle well with your dad
39:00 - 42:00
Wonderful man. The pronunciation of his town in Polish language is Ludz , where the 'L' is enunciated as 'w, not 'L'....
The town has been mentioned in dozens of these interviews and every single one pronounces it like he did, like the English word “lodge”.
I don't li'e the tone of voice. Of the interviewer
Why?
I agree. This was a great interview but, the voice of the interviewer was so ANNOYING. Half way through, I was going to stop watching this because of the annoying voice of the interviewer but, I didn't. Most horrible and annoying voice of an interviewer I have ever heard in my life.
@@annavete5533 Why? Because the interviewer has the most horrible and ANNOYING voice of any interviewer I have ever heard in my life. I almost came to a point when I was going to stop watching this because of the voice of the interviewer.
He’s not an Interviewer- he’s collecting information
The poised english pathomorphologically memorise because seeder selectively explode regarding a callous willow. brave, truthful beaver
…human’s??…who inflicted that kind of pain….they should go straight to Hell!
