Pvt. sector mobile service providers are much efficient than the Govt. sector like MTNL and BSNL.Of course Pvt. sector sservice providers are charging more for that. But then paying less for no services is also costing when you don't get the services. Since past so many months MTNL services are getting bad to worst and there is no information to the users.

Not very long ago those speeds were considered good. As a 90's kid who witnessed all kinds of Internet norms and speeds, I can adjust with these speeds for daily use. And the fact that TATA has taken responsibility to revive the glory of BSNL, we sure can expect a lot more in the future. It's the right time to port.

In fact koi comparison hi nhi Banta 😂 but jio 4g in the Village area is just meh... yeh bhi fact hai... mere mother ke pass 5g phone hai aur speeds are unmatchable outdoors but indoor and sometimes outdoors where 5g signals are weak so 4g works not even Instagram stories load even on 4 band carrier aggregation.... You live in metro cities so you don't know about village conditions bro.... But if you force 5g signals from phone info then no issues at all in terms of speed but then call drops so still there is prob now...
I am watching this video on bsnl sim with 4g speed in punjab. I purchased this sim yesterday. When i put this sim on mobile i saw very good signals then i call and done varification. Today morning at 9am i got good speed internet.

Mobile usage pattern varies from person to person. Many financially backward people need internet in their phone only for whatsapp, facebook. 6-7 mbps speed is good enough for those work. A large chunk of people need phone only for calling, for incoming. BSNL is so very justified for them
Facebook won’t work with this speeds and about call 80% for the time the call doesn’t connects and if connects the call drops with 2-3mins

If call drop happening anywhere then that is a problem.
At my house jio and Airtel both gives low speed about 5mbps in jio and 8+ in Airtel so I bought Wifi

BSNL Also doesn't support VOLTE and Even WIFI Calling, so to port in BSNL people should wait for at least another 6 months to 12 months

I believe it will get better in case of Mumbai, since MTNL towers are going to get added in BSNL's fleet. Anyways, BSNL service is forgivable considering it will be serving as secondary sim to Jio/Airtel/Vi incase of most users.

Atleast you are getting 3g everywhere. You are lucky enough. Aisi halat me b bsnl 3g de rha wo b Kam dam pe to kafi achi bat hai. My secondary sim is BSNL. I use it for call purpose only. Rarely hi call drop milta hai mujhe. Mere Vi me jyda call drop hai isse. We should wait till BSNL 4g rollout. It will be better then.

3g towers are there in Mumbai and thane. Bsnl is there in thane and rest of Maharashtra. In Mumbai you will get mtnl towers. Basically, you are using bsnl sim in Mumbai(mtnl) area so it will show roaming mode.
Bsnl/mtnl towers don't have battery backup so if light goes, the tower is dead and your sim is dead. No one can contact you till light comes back.
Tower maintenance is also different. If tower goes down due to technical issue, it takes 2-3 days for bsnl/mtnl engineer to visit tower and fix it.
I hope you understood why bsnl/mtnl is loosing customers.

Getting a bsnl sim card in Delhi or Mumbai is lucky enough because it's mtnl region and either way max speed of 3g is 15-18 Mbps so speed and coverage was good considering it was 3g and mtnl is broke
Actually am also watching this video on bsnl sim from bangalore, speed are mediocre at best in terms of numbers. But the work gets done. Been watching The Flash for an hour on bsnl network without any glitches. Yes call drops are also frequent.

In Mumbai & Delhi Bsnl work on MTNL Network which is worst than any Network in the world. That's why In your Network it show Dolphin (Bsnl Mobile). In other parts of India Bsnl had it own Network which is far better than MTNL. Currently Govt hand over MTNL Network maintenance to Bsnl so it will take some time for improvement in Delhi & Mumbai. Few Year ago Bsnl allowed its user to use Vodafone Network in Delhi & Mumbai by sending SMS ACT ROAM to 53333 but Roaming charges applied and users have to select Vodafone Network Manually in Network Selection. For deactivation Vodafone Roaming send sms DEACT ROAM to 53333.

Guys just to inform in Mumbai, BSNL doesn't have their own network yet they are serving services through MTNL tower post take over of MTNL. MOU is under signing phase and it may take another 6-12Months to clear. So not right time to buy in mumbai. Pls keep patience as announcement is expected to be big.
