After all the mishaps so far in this life, the deceit, the violence, the anger that leads to sin, the hatred- everything that our flesh will push us to do- we can have a new identity in Christ. Walking in the spirit prevents us from fulfilling the lust of the flesh. The ever present battle between the flesh and the Spirit is enough to kill anyone if we don't endeavour to stand in the power that God has given us. Spoken word night! Should I get popcorn?
I love these, "A Day in the Word" videos. I especially appreciate this Daniel study, as most people avoid teaching through this excellent OT book.
One of my favorite verses in chapter 11 is: "He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who KNOW their God shall STAND FIRM and TAKE ACTION." -Daniel 11:32
I like that verse because I'm reminded that:
Through knowledge we're convicted.
Through Christ we're empowered.

How timely, Jon. Our world is crazy right now and there are so many upsetting and violent circumstances, but my hope must remain in Christ and God's promise if I am to find peace. Whew. So much easier than worrying about politics, lol.

When will the live stream be up?
Hey Jon, I have a question. What happens when we die? I always thought that you go either immediately to heaven or hell based on if you believe in Jesus, of course. But now because of chapter 12 verse 13 I wonder if we wait after death until the day of the Lord when we are judged. Then according to that, we go to heaven or hell. What do you think? Do we "rest" for a time or go straight to our appointed places?
maybe I can help with that question ^^ well I think that after death you wait in a place of "peace". I dont remember where it is wrote but (if Im not wrong)
