Land Rover Discovery 3 Exhaust Cross Over Pipe 2.7TD

So final job for the disco was attempted, unfortunately the effort required is going to be more than I'm willing to put in for the potential benefit. But never mind I'll run you through the process of changing it and you can make up your own mind.

Lifting the body off the chassis is a common practice in workshops for many jobs on a disco as it ends up far quicker than trying to stuff yourself into stupid spots. This one will be one of those sorts of jobs

I haven’t given up on the idea. I suspect once the crossover pipe is undone it will be equally difficult to get the pipe out and the new one in. I will attempt mine body on. 😬

I should ad that I did undo mine before removing the engine. With exhaust pipe and front driveshaft out. I was not able to remove it but left it laying on the bell housing while removing the engine and did the same in reverse when putting the new engine in. I wonder if gearbox out would be an option albeit a painful one.

The rear of the gearbox can drop down a bit with the cross member out, so that may give you enough room.
