- I have been building and using trumpets for many years, with a lot of success. In this video, I am showing you how I use it, and how I instruct others one on one. My way is not the best way for all, but a good starting point for most. I can show how to make most calls of a hen turkey using these, EXCEPT a purr. I have only met one guy in my life that could, so if you can, explain it to me, my tongue isnt that talented :).
I have two calls from Misfire Game Calls. I had a Penn Woods Turpin call and had made two wing bone calls myself. Decided this year to step it up some and purchased a call from Lee. I was able to harvest two birds myself and called another 5 into gun range with his and another trumpet I purchased this year. After that experience I ordered and second call from Misfire and have another one on the way. I'm glad I found Lee and Misfire Game Calls. Great to work with and good sounding calls. I have kept them all handy as I try to run them at least 15 minutes each day. Thanks for a good product and exceptional service ta boot!
So glad I learned to make wing bone calls over 20 years ago. Most natural calm sound. Thank you for your efforts and taking us along with you.
Thanks Reed
I bought one Friday at the 2023 NWTF and I love it!! My wife and kids are about to kill me but I’m getting much better. It’s a lot easier to use than I had imagined.
Glad you like it brother. I expect pictures
I sure will. If you find any of the stabilized Buckeye Burl I’m your guy. Just let me know. 🤞🦃
You are a very good call maker my friend. Great instructional video.
Some of the best trumpets out there.
VERY helpful.......seems to make a lot of sense!
Glad I could be of a little assistance.
Once I committed to a wingbone, it took my hunting to a new level of enjoyment. I have killed a ton of them with diaphragm calls, slates, boxes, etc. But there is something about being successful with something I made myself that just makes it that much more satisfying.
Hey Lee, Thanks for the video. I have that same call, the one you made for me here in NC.
Glad you like it. Now kill a bird with that call
Great job Lee. Called in a hung up bird this morning with a trumpet. He flew across the river into our laps. Hope you are doing well.
The trumpet is deadly, just most people dont have the confidence to take them in the woods
So love the sound of the call and love a new call and new weapon out there in the woods . Aw I just like learning new ways to call man how do i go about purchasing one of your calls

Great video! Lee, do you have a website to order your calls from? Thanks in advance.
I don't have a website Danny. Best way is to email me. misfiregamecalls@bellsouth.net
Was wondering how one might be able to get one of your trumpet calls? Looking to get into using one and have heard good things about these.
Best way is to email me at misfiregamecalls@bellsouth.net
Hello Lee I was just curious to know how are you drilling your holes? Are you using a lathe with a drill chuck or just a regular drill press. Also are you using a reamer to make the hole where the sound comes out larger?
Everything is done on the lathe and yes, a reamer is used for the exhaust end of the trumpet
This might sound weird but I'm brand new and just got a trumpet... is it supposed to tickle ur lips? Is it just me or am I doing it wrong
Chris, its not all that uncommon. Try adjusting the lipstop and see if that helps. It has been so long for me that I cant remember if I had that happen or not. Now, after playing them for so long, I dont feel anything.
How much are these calls rather pay a craftsman than a big box store

Not bad for an old guy.. I believe you may be on your way Lee .
Good Videob, keep them coming .
Thanks brother. Missed seeing you this year at the shows. Hopefully all this garbage will be done soon and we can get back to some sort of normalcy
How do I purchase one of your calls?
Hey Chris, email me misfiregamecalls@bellsouth.net
Do you sell your calls?
I do Zach. Email me at misfiregamecalls@bellsouth.net
You'd sell a lot more of them things if you'd stop demonstrating them....
Only you can get away with that. You two are both true Ambassador to Traditional turkey hunting. Thank you lifetime dedication.
Do you have a video on how to make a trumpet?
No sir I dont.
