This is for those who think that he's taking too many and are gonna write hate comments : it's his farm he can take as much as he wants! Read the freaking description!
Thats actually very clear visablity. I dive in the puget sound and just Yesterday we only had about 1-2 feet of visibility, i wouldnt have been able to make a video this clear, it was crazy. All depends on the location and current, But still awsome vid, this is good current. Also we dive at like 50 ft deep these farmers dive around 10 ft.
I find it funny how people like you post a video to interest people in your job (assuming this is your job) and to shine some light on the world and 1/8 of the comments is hate.
this is amazing to see how they harvest on a farm! I'm from a lobstermen family and always wondered how y'all 'clammed' elsewhere. LOVE the video keep up the great work.
Wow. That is neat. Thanks for sharing. I know there is a huge market for those things in east Asia and after eating my first one this spring I can see why. They are delicious. Do they seed those beds to get densities like that?
Wonderful show, I'm assuming the pipe is pressurized water and it helps push out the sand to 'dig for you', I'm curious as to how you know other than feeling where the duck is located....
+Vbbv22 Now boby what did i tell you bout playen dem damn vid-ja games....turn off those vid-ja games and do your homework like a good amercian boy, not like those chinese
OK. so I was just watching peacefully then he comes up to a pile of Geo Duck and I see a huge one and I'm like grab the huge one first since your almost out of room.... then he grabs the tiny ones... 😢
I live in Naples Florida and was wondering how or where I could purchase geoduck. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Frank By the way, I loved watching this video, thanks so much for sharing it with us. 😎
Frank Daniels they are mostly farmed in the Pacific Northwest. you can buy them online most likely but they might be even more online. they usually go anywhere from $60-$120 per goeduck.
I don't think those are farm raised geoduck, more like wild because farm raised are more in shallow water and this is in deep water 30-50ft. I have a friend who is a Tribal diver in Wa. State and he harvest all wild geoducks
These are farmed duck. I work with these guys. Plus you see the pvc tube at 6:40? Those are what the geoduck seed are planted in. And when the tide is high, sometimes we are in deep water. I was digging on a beach the other day and we were 40+ feet under. Some of our beaches are strictly for diving meaning the beaches are so steep that we can't work a dry beach because the tide doesn't go out far enough.

this man stocks his face in a cloud of sand with practically no visibility and still manages to pull out clams in record time . impressive

I pulled about 1600 lbs in 2 dives in a day
Legend says that he's still in the ocean digging geoducks..

Wow, amazing! That does look like fun. I can see it getting boring after awhile. He sure is fast finding those things.
Too long video, but geoduck harvest was awesome for me. Just now I become familiar with this creature! looks awesome!
At first i thought he is greedy to finish it all but when someone say he is on a farm thats the time i relax hahaha
This was the guy that the mama geoduck warned the little clams about. There's none left for anyone else!!
Yea he took it all. From his own damn farm. Seriously who took everything from their own farm

There is a small crater usually, once you know what these craters look like they are way easier to spot.
Did u see that crab tho he was just vibin-
Wow..how long does it take for the clams to grow that big?
Wow! That's a lot of geoduck so with I could eat them right now!
Oh how do I miss the ocean when I lived in Sonoma County CA
Great job!
How long does it take to grow them to that size ?
Interesting.
I never knew geoducks could be farmed.
How long does it take them to mature, from the larval stage or when they are set out?
+CombineLover Most are harvested from farms around 7 years or so.
can anyone tell me plzz that wat izz dis??nd where its found
Does he work for Taylor shellfish farms? If you don't mind me asking, I am also curious as to how he got into this field of work? Thank you.
When I thought he was done fishing, there's 50 more....
damn your score big time good catch cheers
Why aren't they in a frenzy to get back down into the mud? Just curious...
that is one hell easy harvest... good lord its party time!!!
Wow! Looks easy to get in seconds
Are they sold by the pound? Quite a haul.
are they hard to find
It looks so much fun:-) down there
I would love to visit your place
Wow...fascinating!

wahuuuuuuuuu . I really like this video. thank you
I wonder if you can piggy back on this process and filter for gold? I've got some ideas!
Someone got sold land at low tide. Lucky bastard.
how do you know that spot has clam under it?
The spot where it is, the sand is lower than usual.
Mohd Saleh it's a farm
Very interesting'; thanks for posting. It looks like you occasionally pull out a gaper clam. Do those have any commercial value?
corbfisher It was selling for $36.99/lb in supermarket!
Do you sell them or have a restaurant.
So the farm is underwater, right?
That basket alone in the past year or so will bring in about 5000 dollars at a restaurant in Hong Kong.
His farm?? No way !!
wow exotic seafuds i like dat where can i buy, how much the price in a market, tnx cue
que bicho é esse ? isso tem no Brasil ?
Where do you find geoducks at?
Susana Vasquez wtf😂
*яαυl* *ʝυαяєz*
1:55 left in the corner you will see a crab
Where is this at?
Somewhere in Puget Sound, Washington State I believe.
ayyy leave some for the rest of us guy!
I saw a crab move in the vid
Looks like gold nuggets on the bottom of the ocean there lol
So what is that you are using a vacuum or something?
Opposite, I'm pretty sure it shoots out sea water just to move the sand out of the way
+Vbbv22 God Dang it Bobby. That sounds more right
+Vbbv22 Now boby what did i tell you bout playen dem damn vid-ja games....turn off those vid-ja games and do your homework like a good amercian boy, not like those chinese

Pretty sad that you watched then. 🙄

I never seen anything like this in my life. We don't get a chance to swim in green toxic water here.
Way over the limit aren't you?
No, they're farm raised. We usually get a thousand pound quotas per day, per crew. This is not tribal digging.
Good question.
This is why I have trust issues with my wife going fishing without me
SHARK!!! :-)
that looks..........fun.......
Lmao
มันคืออะไรยะ
Why not put them in a bag while harvesting? 2 easy to step on them and lose track of em. But great video...
Good👍
How does they taste? O.o
Dylan Greenfield Nice
This looks like a seen off a moive
I thought farming this creature only possible to do on land (with sea water).. o.O
Is this a sustainable way of obtaining these clams? Seems like cheating to me.
It's a shellfish farm, pretty sure it's legal for him since he may own it

geoducks are selling at $200/kg!
I don't think those are farm raised geoduck, more like wild because farm raised are more in shallow water and this is in deep water 30-50ft. I have a friend who is a Tribal diver in Wa. State and he harvest all wild geoducks

+renzoqu you mean like a Dick
+Kirsten Hoppins -just like chicken

suyu temizleyen canlıları yiyorsunuz. suyu kim temizleyecek
almost as good as me ; )
why don't they move?
Sinns they're basically clams. They move slightly, but mostly just to try retracting into their shells.
Julie Liu OK thanks for clearing that up :)
Sinns given enough time, they would have buried themselves again, but they're really slow tbh. Also, np :)
OMG, those things are so ugly! Gotta admire what you do!
holy shit !!!! too many
Sowing Gm it's a farm😑
