Dlub Kid's ending really is the most successful; not only does he get a rave that lasts all night, he gets it in Alaska, where the nights are 8 months long, making for a much longer party; and even if he does freeze to death due to a lack of proper setup, he basically goes out partying, which I think he'd appreciate.
As I watched Calypso twist everyone's wishes against them, I still wasn't prepared what he did to Mr. Grimm. It was so ridiculous but still made me have a laughing fit.

Yeah that's true but Twisted Metal 3 was mostly about that sweet co-op/multiplayer back then with all your little friends. A simple remake with todays tech and all that online shit though, would probably kill.

sweet tooth81 wow. You know you’re a real egotistical douchebag when you go “BURN!!!” at your own piss-poor attempt at a roast. Anyway, yes, Twisted Metal 2’s endings are much better. Sure it’s comical but it’s not childish comical. You have stuff like discount Bill and Ted tossing themselves off the side of a building thinking they could fly, and Calypso responds to that with “good thing these first-class tickets are refundable...” with a mystified look on his face. And it actually gets legitimately horrifying, like with when he stretched Ken Masters’ (NOT to be confused with Street Fighter’s Ken Masters) face and wrapped it around the world. And you have genuine moments like when his daughter comes to him as an L. A. P. D. android, and hugs her despite knowing that she’s rigged to explode on him.
Auger: "I'm gonna end Calypso's tournament for destroying all my hard construction work." Calypso: "So you're wish is for people to see your inner child?" How in the fuck does that even relate....TM1, 2, and black are the best! 3 has some fun gameplay but it's obvious where it fails. 4 is just worse.
Terran L yeah I liked his personality in Twisted Metal 2 as a sort of Evil Genie Freddy Krueger. He is literally taking and granting the wishes exactly as he hears them, but here he’s just doing whatever the hell he wants with the wishes he hears.
Well the Calypso in Black is just a figment of Sweet Tooth's imagination. Calypso is usually pretty fair to Sweet Tooth. Maybe that's why he grants the wishes honestly in Black.
Gotta admit, Mr. Grimm’s ending is actually so bad it’s good. It’s short, the least stupid of them all, and fits the style of classic Calypso twisting the meanings of words. Plus, Calypso’s VA sounds like he’s having a blast.

I came to revisit this video a year later (not this video specifically, but the old one which was uploaded and included the physical wish granting part in every scene); and the wishes are much worse than I remember. The Warthog wish [granted] is absolutely the worst. Calypso literally told him to wish for the head to match back in TM2, and when Warthog does, Calypso somehow twisted those words around. And did the creators just forget about the Outlaws getting screwed in TM2? They should've been seeking revenge.
As long as they dont try and make it another black sequel, I just didnt enjoy Black that much. I mean it was alright and the stories were fantastic I just enjoyed the looney cartoony gameplay that the first 4 had

This was the era where cheap cgi was very new and everyone wanted to try it. Needless to say, it didn't age well at all. Bah, even when I was a kid and this game was out It already felt ugly and rough. TM2 had a very good style, a dark 90s comic type that suited the franchise perfectly, it is a pity that they did not drag it to the rest of the games.
I feel like the next Twisted Metal they make should have a good ending and a bad ending depending on some sort of mechanic. Maybe have each character have a separate side quest line that shows up in each level and if they finish all of it, you get a good ending.
I loved this game and it holds a special part in my childhood.. but those endings are super weak. Clubkid gets sent to alaska and freezes lol. Alaska isn't uninhabitable, and on most days just as cold as where I live in the Midwest.Their wishes were weak too.. a bbq? Wtf?... and by 3 they should have figured out his tricks especially since they were catching on in part 2.

I feel like most of these characters wouldn't need Calypso to grant their wishes. Granny wants to stay home and watch TV? What the hell is stopping her? Minion wants to go to Hell. Did he lose the map or something? He's a demon! Club Kid wants to party all night. Just throw a party, it's not that hard. A good few of these wouldn't require as much effort as winning a vehicular death tournament.
From what I recall Granny's neighbourhood tended to be a hotspot for the tournament so she basically couldn't relax to watch stuff because of it as there was no peace and quiet for her to find time to watch stuff.
For the Grandma one in the official small book in the game case it says that she she wants to stay home watch TV because every single time that she tries to someone blows up her house I think it was
Warthog’s ending doesn’t make any sense in terms of irony. He wasn’t his old 107 year old head to match his 20 year old body…. And Calypso somehow goes thru enough loopholes to twist his words into meaning “decapitate me” Where’s the irony in that? Just give him the head but still kill him, like his internals were all still old so he died of old age with the exterior of a twenty year old

Gameplay was excellent however the endings were NOT SO TWISTED enough and very lame LAMEEEEEE. The stories should have at least some connection from TW1 and TW2. For example, Outlaw, Minion, Sweet Tooth

How did three get much worse than 2 especially the endings. Why does nobody wish for his powers or his death or the undoing of everything he's done including getting his powers. Warthog made no sense he said he wanted a head to match his body why would the body be removed and he became a head in a jar?

The majority of these wishes are so dumb in which anyone can _easily_ do on a daily basis normally (mainly Firestarter's, Hammerhead's, Thumper's, Club Kid's, Roadkill's, Spectre's & Sweet Tooth's).
The endings are the most important aspect of the game, because you have your character go through all of those challenges and stages, so you want a satisfying ending, but the game doesn't give you one. And yes, I have played and beat the game with all of the characters, including Minion. I was really looking forward to Minion owning Calypso, and was disappointed when that didn't happen.

This was the era where cheap cgi was very new and everyone wanted to try it.
Needless to say, it didn't age well at all. Bah, even when I was a kid and this game was out It already felt ugly and rough.
TM2 had a very good style, a dark 90s comic type that suited the franchise perfectly, it is a pity that they did not drag it to the rest of the games.
I feel like the next Twisted Metal they make should have a good ending and a bad ending depending on some sort of mechanic. Maybe have each character have a separate side quest line that shows up in each level and if they finish all of it, you get a good ending.
That element could legitimately carry an entire new Twisted Metal game
I loved this game and it holds a special part in my childhood.. but those endings are super weak. Clubkid gets sent to alaska and freezes lol. Alaska isn't uninhabitable, and on most days just as cold as where I live in the Midwest.Their wishes were weak too.. a bbq? Wtf?... and by 3 they should have figured out his tricks especially since they were catching on in part 2.
Only a select few were part of the previous tournaments (like the Outlaw pair) and so Calypso got a primarily new batch of people to f*ck with.

I feel like most of these characters wouldn't need Calypso to grant their wishes. Granny wants to stay home and watch TV? What the hell is stopping her? Minion wants to go to Hell. Did he lose the map or something? He's a demon! Club Kid wants to party all night. Just throw a party, it's not that hard. A good few of these wouldn't require as much effort as winning a vehicular death tournament.
From what I recall Granny's neighbourhood tended to be a hotspot for the tournament so she basically couldn't relax to watch stuff because of it as there was no peace and quiet for her to find time to watch stuff.
For the Grandma one in the official small book in the game case it says that she she wants to stay home watch TV because every single time that she tries to someone blows up her house I think it was

Gameplay was excellent however the endings were NOT SO TWISTED enough and very lame LAMEEEEEE. The stories should have at least some connection from TW1 and TW2. For example, Outlaw, Minion, Sweet Tooth

The majority of these wishes are so dumb in which anyone can _easily_ do on a daily basis normally (mainly Firestarter's, Hammerhead's, Thumper's, Club Kid's, Roadkill's, Spectre's & Sweet Tooth's).
Really sucks that these games are judged on the quality of their endings. TM3 had the best gameplay, soundtrack and control scheme easily

The endings are the most important aspect of the game, because you have your character go through all of those challenges and stages, so you want a satisfying ending, but the game doesn't give you one. And yes, I have played and beat the game with all of the characters, including Minion. I was really looking forward to Minion owning Calypso, and was disappointed when that didn't happen.
