Nah I'll stay in Texas. All of Texas isn't just Austin, and Texas is not trending blue. In fact, the border region just went red in over 50yrs. Texas is geologically diverse. If you want hiking, camping, white water rafting, lakes, beaches it has all that. Along with open plains, and swamps. Florida does have better blue beaches though. If you don't live on the coast unlike Florida you don't have to worry about Hurricanes. Real estate is cheaper too. Very pro business atmosphere.

i agree think pat was off the mark (a lot of times he is recently) with texas, hes hyptothetically speaking or even being fearful to use the influx of blue companies turning the state red, sure texas may not have been blood red the last twenty years like other decades but the red swing that is happening over all usa will be felt in texas first, nothing to worry about there, not in the time frame hes saying anyway, decades away. i do see austin potentially replicating LA down the line, the homelessness and centre of a state that battles persistently destructive politicians. The only way I can texas going under like pat says is if they appoint a conservative who has been tainted and will take texas down

I really want to move to Florida, however, the two red flags that are heck no, is The out of control and insurance market. My cost would be so much higher moving to Florida just for car insurance homeowners insurance, then living in a blue state on the West Coast like Oregon or even California to some extent the cast is so out of control it makes Florida unlivable and unless you are already very, very rich. no thanks. At any rate, why would I want to pay that kind of money and not at the insurance is going to go up by factor of 10X in 10 years or less. Inflation standpoint of cost of living it makes Florida worse than New York by a factor of 100. Someone trying to be rich or work middle-class lifestyle would be a fool to move to Florida economically. How does the math pan out?

One of the best things about Florida is that there are a lot of fairly nice to very nice cities...both large and small...to go to. For the most part it may take about 3 hours to get to if you don't live in the panhandle. Some of those places I wouldn't want to live (i.e. Ft. Lauderdale, Daytona Beach), but they are usually at least worth a nice little trip to go to. As hot and humid as it gets in the FLA, it's a very outdoorsy culture and even the weather, with how rapid storms can go right thru the state, is beautiful in its own right.

It’s hard to be in a safe neighborhood when a half mile down the road it’s pretty rough. In DFW the suburbs are safe. It’s very clear the areas that not safe. Mainly the Inner city. Texas is a great place to live for different reasons than Florida. I live in the Dallas area and love it. As he said, it’s a great place to live work and play, but most importantly raise a family. Especially metro Dallas. I think everyone knows why Florida is a great place to live. I have only lived in Houston all my life. If you can adapt to about 5 months of heat and humidity, I would recommend the Washington Ave. corridor. It is about 3.5 miles long from west downtown Houston to a vehicle round-about. About two blocks west is Houston’s most popular park- Memorial Park. There is relatively easy access to Interstates 10 and 45 and 69. It is located in between the Heights and Montrose neighborhoods. Midtown is east of the Montrose neighborhood. Just south of Midtown is Hermann Park, the zoo, the Museum District and the Medical Center District. At the eastern end of the Washington Ave. corridor in downtown is the Theater District, then Minute Maid Park and Toyota Center.

I really want to move to Florida, however, the two red flags that are heck no, is The out of control and insurance market combined with the cost of living. My cost would be so much higher moving to Florida just for car insurance homeowners insurance, then living in a blue state on the West Coast like Oregon or even California to some extent the cost is so out of control it makes Florida unlivable and unless you are already very, very rich. no thanks. At any rate, why would I want to pay that kind of money and not know if the insurance cost is going to go up by factor of 10X in 10 years or less. Inflation standpoint of cost of living it makes Florida worse than New York by a factor of 100. Someone trying to be rich or work middle-class lifestyle would be a fool to move to Florida economically. How does the math pan out? Patrick is already rich therefore it doesn’t matter to him. However, I would say he’s probably going to have problems recruiting talent soon, the same, kind of problems California does, when your costs are out of control so much so that it ruins the quality of life people will think twice before accepting a job offer. That’s just the nature of how it is in the modern economy. Florida Is gaining that infamous reputation for being a place to not buy a house did you unlivable costs. Patrick doesn’t care now, I bet he will care very much in about 5 to 10 years if nothing changes. Just how I see it. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, if your employees and talent say I’m bowing out due to the cost of living.
