Great suggestions! Loading up my shopping carts now.
It’s evident that you’ve had a lot of experience with this camera and its accessories. By far the best accessory video I’ve come across. you nailed it with the recommendations and explanations👏🏻 thank you, so helpful!!
Thank you so much Megan!
I’m moving from LUMIX to X100vi so this was really helpful. 🙏
I still use and love my Fuji a100f but im hoping to upgrade sometime soon
Thank you.
Love the video! Can’t wait to get my X100VI and try out some of these accessories.
One alternative to the leather neck strap with PD anchors for those outside the UK is Clever Supply Co, it is a bit more expensive but very solid and popular strap here in the US.
Thank you so much! Clever supply make some great stuff. Hope you get your X100VI soon!!
Those are some great essentials for the camera. Can’t wait for mine to show up.
Hope you get yours soon!
@@JamesReader oh, thank you yeah I ordered it from B&H but I haven’t heard any word yet. They took my money though.
Now if only we can actually GET a X100VI…
Have you preordered one?
@@JamesReaderI did, they told me if I’m lucky I’ll hold it in my hands this June 😂
@@timgatz4219 I preordered 2/20 @0900 from B&H. Hope to receive my camera this year. Good luck with that.
Glad I own other cameras to use until the VI arrives or I cancel the order.
Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
That's what I've been hearing as well.
Got mine March 14th.
Great video. I’ve been looking for a decent slimmer hard carry case for my X100VI.
Thank you! Love the PGYTECH case
Very useful. Two other great accessories are the Fuji case. Expensive but beautifully made and I keep the bottom half on as basic protection. The small rig L shaped handle (aluminium grip) is superbly comfortable and protects the base of the camera. As a Canon DSLR and M5 user, I find the thin grip of the VI a little too slippery, even with a thumb grip. Fear of a drop…..
Finally, I agree on the peak design red attachments. I only keep one on the left hand side now for the PD cuff as on the right it just gets in the way of many control dial. However, it’s easy to add back on when I want a full PD strap. I do like the look of your alternative.
Thank you! I keep meaning to try the small rig handle - looks great for some added grip and comfort.
Love Woodgate straps. I have a couple, one leather, one rope, and both are of very good quality. Also, Nathan will make custom tweaks for you if asked and doable on his side. Lastly, I’m in Canada, so they do ship outside of the UK, but not sure which other countries.
That’s awesome! I definitely want to pick up a rope strap soon.
I have the same neck strap from Woodgate they are great quality and look good
Agreed!
Ok I admit the look of the fuji X100 series is just a beauty.
Thanks for the video.
At the 10:55 mark: is that Île de la Cité?
Great recommendations overall, however I am getting a focus error message with the Nisi Hood System. Is there a workaround for this?
Great list. Thank for this. Just a heads up - the lens hood will throw a shadow if you use the flash. Also JJC makes a thin thumb grip that works well with the X100VI.
This is why I got the round lens hood style. It doesn’t look sexy, but it doesn’t cast a shadow. 😅
The round lens hood works with the stock lens cap too!
@@daniels9877 oh which brand did you go for for the round lens hood?
@@WilliamChuong The Haoge 2 in 1.
@@daniels9877 thank you for your quick reply, I really appreciate it 👍🏻
did you have problems with the color at the part of screwing/of screwing filters? does the color goes away at your camera?
Hi. Thanks so much for the info. Great video and great ideas. I ordered a Long Weekend Pouch for my X1006. But alas it won't fit now that I have fitted a Nisi UHD UV Filter Hood on mine and ordered the Smallrig L-Shaped Grip. It just fits with the Nisi Hood but only just! Definitely won't squeeze in with the Smallrig Grip attached as well. I like the Tenba V2 4 pouch you look at here. It's hard for me to tell if there is any room in there! Can you tell me if there mine with those accessories would fit in your Tenba pouch please. It's hard to go by their dimension online as you can't tell if there is any stretch room as such. Cheers and thanks for the video!
Hey Brett! The Tenba pouch is quite a snug fit with the X100 6 and the NiSi hood attached, which is to be fair what I was looking for in a pouch dedicated to protecting the camera in a backpack. I haven't got the Smallrig L shaped grip to confirm for sure but I feel that it would probably fit (again quite snugly) Do you have a link to the exact L grip you have? I'll try and order it and find out for you if it fits.
Great video! Quick Q: Does the X100VI fit in that Tenba pouch with the lens hood on?
Thank you! It does fit but is quite a tight fit.
Great perspective, thanks. Have you found the X100VI feels significantly heavier than the V?
Thank you! I wouldn’t say significant- but it is noticeable.
I bought a Peak Design Anchor Link 4 Pack in all black for my black X100V, looks much better than the ones with red.
Great idea! I’ll pick some up now
Hey have they stopped selling the lens hood? I clicked the link and it's not there :(
Mine just came in today. How is the hood with Flash? does it cast any shadows?
I must admit I haven’t tested it - someone else commented that it can cast a shadow. I’ll have to test myself and get back to you.
Does the camera still fit in the Tenba pounch when the squarehood lens hood is on? thanks!
It does! It's quite snug though.
Nice video, thanks! Where did you get your shirt from @14:18 🙏
Thank you! The overshirt is from Reiss called the "Liam Wool Blend Brushed Overshirt". Bought it a long time ago though so can't promise it will be easy to find!
Thanks man! Subbed
A tipp for the sake of aesthetics: peak design ankers are also available in all black - without the red. 🖤
Great tip! Thank you! Gonna buy some now.
You need the red colored dots. It’s a badge of being a prosumer instead of an amateur.
Peak Design sells all black anchors also. I hate those red ones. They sell them on Amazon.
Which neck strap did you go for the 'Wide' or 'Slim'? - Looks like the wide one?
Mine is just the “Leather neck strap - made with peak design anchor links”. And it is 1.5cm wide.
No issues with the Nisi UV filter and close focus ?
Having the issue.
I need help here! I saw a comment on Amazon that the square Nisi lense hood here, originally designed for x100v, had a tiny gap and doesn’t actually fit the x100vi? What was your experience? Thanks
Can't see any gaps on mine, does it give any indication where the gap is ?
The esthetic of the camera is beautiful, and as you are saying it at11:34 min: the peak design red ankers destroy the esthetic of the camera. I dont know why a lot of youtubers dont mention it. Or simply they arent aware of this fact?
Is there any carry on pouch you recommend with the hoods on?
Haven’t found one yet but I’ve been very happy with the pgytech one so haven’t tried too many others.
Any issue with the filter spacing on the adapter for the Nisi Hood? Does it screw in fine without a gap?
Mine screws on fine and can't see any noticable gaps.
@@JamesReader I tried it but ended up returning because the hood was just too loose. There should be a locking mechanism on the adapter ring. As is, just sliding on the hood wasn’t secure enough for my use. It fell off with a flick. Maybe I got a bad one it wasn’t as secure as what you displayed in the video.
Thank you for your suggestions! But unfortunately my NISI lens hood didn't work out like yours. I put them on, took a few shots. Then 'Focus error' warning appealed. I had to reboot the camera to fix it. Is anyone else here having this problem? I suspect when the lens touch the UV filter inside the hood causing the problem.
Oh really? I haven’t had this issue at all, there should be plenty of space between the lens and the UV filter. If you want to email me a photo of the camera with the hood on I’ll see if I can help.
Sent! Thanks!
I have this problem as well. 😢
Sorry for the random question but would the Tenba Skyline v2 Pouch 4 - Black have enough room for the camera and the genuine Fujifilm round lens hood on, or would it need to be disconnected?
I would guess so since the NiSi hood fits in there, but can't promise 100% as I haven't tried.
@@JamesReader thank you, your a star!! 🌟
Can the x100vi be charged by charging the battery or can you charge it with by the body?
You can charge the body through the USB C port
does the mist filter work with the nisi hood?
it does !
Is the X100VI screen the same size as X100V? Is the X100V screen protector fit X100VI?
Yep they look to be the same size to me.
With this square hood, the camera is weather resistant?
Yep - I believe the inclusion of the UV filter should seal the camera.
@@JamesReader thank you 👍
hood kinda tilts at 4:06 lol
Smallrig have a new tumbgrip
👍👍👍
I just bought the case you recommended in your video and it doesn’t fit the camera without any additional gear
Hey Mia! Which case?
@@JamesReader The hardshell case. I managed to tetris it in with some planning, but there is a good amount of pressure applied to the front of the lens cap when it was closed. Trying to figure out if this is safe or not. What gear was on your lens when you packed it away?
Most of us can't get the camera
I am %100 convinced that you're calling thumb grips, foam grips.
😂
Lots of nice product but it was a bit slow pacing…..Playback speed at 1.5x sounds perfect.
Thank you for watching and I appreciate the feedback 🙏
@@JamesReader Hi James, I do want to ask, have you tried the YC Onion hood? and if you have, what do you think of it?
You asked for more recommendations - so why have you deleted mine??
I haven’t deleted any comments? What did you recommend?
@@JamesReader maybe messages with links are automatically deleted?
- Nisi hood with integrated filter.
- Hyperion straps.
Great video, but I think you said X100VI like 4,000 times!
Yeah I noticed when watching it back 😂 didn’t have any script for this one and it definitely showed. Thank you for watching!
I don’t think he said the word “Camera” at all!
Can you use the OEM Fujifilm filter adapter with filter with the NISI hood?
You prefer the Gimmerglass 1 over the Black Pro Mist 1/8?
Let me test that and get back to you! Yeah I much prefer the Glimmerglass
