Lisa, this really resonated with me on a very deep level. I was not giving God a chance to help soothe and comfort my anxiety. Sometimes, we need angels to help point the way. That was you today, and I am most grateful. Thank you once again for a wonderful video. You are a joy!
This is a very special message Lisa, you must have been on my heart when I decided to go with the topic. Thank you for your candor - truth be told it’s a very human experience! Thank you ! 💝
Hi Lisa, great topic and thanks for the book recommendation. I committed to a organic/toxin-free life, as much as is possible anyway, about 10 years ago. I’m reminded of the sayings, “You are what you eat” and “Treat your body as a temple”. Giggled a bit at your condiment story…yep, my refrigerator and I have a date this afternoon!😂Wishing you a wonderful day and weekend ahead.
Hi Lisa, I just sat down to watch your last 3 videos. What a great way to start the new year. Thank you so much for all the care and love you share. 💕🙏🏻 I love you!
What we consume has so much impact on our health & wellness! I pray that my sons will realize this someday as they age! I send them articles & hope they read them. Thanks Lisa 😊
🦋Hi Lisa: I’m trying to practice self control in a few areas as WFPBased eating, walking 30 min daily, studying with a Bible exegesis podcast, and downsizing to live more comfortably through minimalism! Seeking God through prayer & study. Looking forward to your videos; appreciate your efforts here…. 🎵🍍
Hi Lisa, Watching this video was so insightful as the topics of food are so widespread and often confusing as to what/who to listen to. We try to eat healthy by limiting meat but including it into most meals. Fresh fruits, veggies and salads are included in our diets. When I cook and sometimes go to use something that is marginal (date or freshness), voices from Ina Garten and Martha Stewart go through my head, saying only to use the freshest and best ingredients! Good advice which steers me in the right direction. The wasting of food is something I still deal with; however, if it’s not palatable, I do not eat it. The emotional eating is something I still deal with and the ingrained feeling that if I am sick, I need to eat to feel better. Wherever or whoever that idea came from, it stuck with me! Thank you for these excellent suggestions and books.
Great topic! Our body is the temple of the Lord and we should be mindful of what we put into it. Great suggestion about emptying the fridge!! P.S. Your Christmas cactus looks amazing and looks like it's getting ready to bloom!!
I enjoyed listening to your insights on this great topic. As you know know I'm vegan and have been for 17 years because of my love for animals. I will say a few times a year like when I am on vacation I sometimes eat cheese. In my daily life I eat whole foods, organic as much as possible and stay away from processed foods and I'm in good health at 52. I have read the book Eat to beat disease and found it very interesting and useful. The China Study is another good one you may be interested in. Thanks for this discussion, food, health, lifestyle and emotions are very intertwined. This was a good one Lisa ❤
I understand your decision, and am impressed by your eating habits. I’ll check out the China Study - always looking to expand my understanding,.. as I know you are. 🩷
I have that book. I look at it often! Here in the middle of Kansas, we are hunkering down with my homemade organic chicken vegetable soup waiting for another round of frigid temperatures. Love your calming voice! ❤
@@lisaemeterio Thank you! We are trying! Oh my goodness, the fridged cold almost instantly makes your face feel like little crystals appear! It feels very strange.
Lisa I love your channel and advice. I did order your book recommendation but am disappointed. I thought the author was going to address God differently but from the very beginning she talks about a Zen master, and that she doesn’t believe in the God that we all believe in and that’s OK for her but I just thought the book was gonna be about God as the Christian God so I don’t even feel like finishing the book. I don’t know if I can send it back. I’m just sharing my thoughts and maybe I am not giving it a chance. The title of her book is very misleading . I still love your channel and will still continue to watch you and as I said, I love your good advice, and you’re a beautiful lady.
Oh Maria, I understand and I'm so sorry. I read lots of books and take away the parts I find beneficial and adjust what is implied to my Christian beliefs. I find wisdom in some of the most unusual places! As an example Albert Einstein contributed greatly to our understanding of physics and the theory of relativity. May I suggest reading the book and filtering it through your Christian beliefs? Because when she speaks of God, you know exactly who she's talking about, even if she doesn't! Since we're all made in His image and truth is truth, we can learn from lots of interesting people. I'm truly grateful for your honesty and reaching out, thank you!!!! xoxo
PS. Please keep me posted. 💗 I wrote and led a bible study on this book long ago where we took her insights and related them to scripture. It was really fun and enlightening. I can't remember exactly, but if there was anything that didn't align, then it didn't apply, as I do with all secular books.
