which historical event is this song referring to? I've found that the Lancashire Fusiliers were sent to Canada to take part in the Siege of Quebec in 1760. do you reckon that's where these Lancashire Lads were being sent?
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have the real Lancashire back ...I know that in theory the County Palatine of Lancashire has never changed (and takes in Liverpool and Manchester and runs up to Coniston) but, unlike Yorkshire, the stripping of the County name and creation of the local government names has led to some people not even knowing their on County and history..and culture of which Mike Harding has done so much to keep alive.
