I was the fourth train to pass Reno that day and Rick Stein still has most of the banner, just saw it last week.

Edgar Kaiser the steel magnate approached BN about hauling Elk valley coal out of Canada and When CP heard about it they not only built the line to tidewater in Vancouver but built the entire transload facility at Robert's Bank 1200 yards north of the U.S. Canada border
It looks like some of the Coal Gondolas with Rotary Couplers were built by FMC.

The man at time 2:00 should have been the man who had the honor (unless there was someone who could drive the spikes faster) to drive that final spike home. No way should it have been that fat-assed corporate from BN!
