imagine a phoning it in episode, but the try guys are behind the phone, and in without-a-recipe style they get a random dish and have to instruct how they think it should be made and the chefs painstakingly have to follow the orders and make it knowing damn well it's all wrong and off and terrible
YES!!!!!!!!! This would be hilarious!
That's a great idea. Reminds me of the semifinal challenges that Worst Cooks in America will do where the contestants (in groups of two) get the actual dish to taste. They have to describe the plating and what they think the ingredients are and how they're cooked. It's pretty fun, especially when the contestants refuse to agree and the professionals are like "guys please, what the hell do I do".
They do this all the time on worst cooks in America. Itâs pretty funny
amaaaazing idea
@@noellev9332 Yeah that's always hilarious when you can SEE the chef be like "...yeah there's no way this is right" lol
Parents of a two-Michelin starred pastry chef were disappointed at their daughter losing a CZcams baking competition where she wasn't even baking herself! Asian parents are truly on another level, lolđ
Came here to find this comment and like it đ
It's a terrible attitude. People always laugh about it but it's such trash behavior.
@@Maialeen Its what generational PTSD does to you. YOu laugh because its true. Too true. Not because its good. We're just coping lmao.
@@Maialeen I look back upon it now and think that our parents were trying their best with what they *thought* was the best way to make sure we'd succeed, which means we'd be stable and safe. I am very thankful that my parents were willing to learn and adjust, which I think was because both of my parents were the youngest of their siblings, which honestly meant they got to watch/learn from their older siblings' mess ups. Though, that meant hilariously that I have taken so many IQ tests... the idea being to be more forgiving and get resources for me for the things I had difficulty with, and then to push me on teh things I was gifted in. LMAO. So I was allowed B's and even the occasional C in English, but absolutely not in math adn comp sci.
It's emotional abuse.
i'd love it if they did an episode when the person on the phone was their spouse/partner. that would be absolute chaos
They should bring in Kwesiâs wife!

That little toaster oven is a saboteur! It was causing issues for Jonny last week too. They should just get a 2nd actual oven at this point cos it sucks that one contestant is always set up to fail using that piece of crap!
Fr, baking is a huge part of the try guys videos!
I totally agree!
This!!
either that, or make them both use toaster ovens so it's an even playing field at least. or even just confer with the chefs ahead of time so only one of them picks an oven-based recipe?
I think I read somewhere that because itâs not a commercial kitchen for food sales or prep, theyâre only allowed the one real oven, thatâs why they use the one outside so often as well
Monique is such a professional for handling the sheer CHAOS that Marissa brings. A true MVP.
I honestly feel really bad but Marissa is hard for me to watch sometimes itâs like watching a child đ
@@Kase1313 I dunno, I think sheâs the most competent person theyâve ever had on their cooking shows. Except for when they were making bread and Red was in his white boy sourdough phase. Which was just obnoxious imo. But Marissa, who has a good base understanding of cooking practices, as well as having a base of knowledge from watching cooking and baking shows? i feel like i probably would have arranged the circles the same way marisa did. "fit 8 small circles on the large circle" feels like exactly what she did, especially with the clarification that they would overlap
Same! đ I was visualizing the same pattern as Marisa and then they showed how it should have been done and I thought âwell fuckâ
For me I would have viewed it the way Monique did. I would have seen the circle as the line in this case. If it was filled in I would consider the entire area the circle. These videos really highlight how we all interpret things differently.
I would have said we were making a wreath that has an 8 inch diameter or whatever size
Monique very quickly said to put 8 small circles ON the large circle, and I think Marisa missed that and assumed they would be IN the large circle. I missed that too until they showed the diagram.
@@jlilley73 I thought that too. But then I thought about how some people might see that circle as solid and not view the circle as just the line. Like if I saw the circle colored in solid I would say ON the circle would be inside, but as it was I would think on the line. But others might see the empty circle the same way I would see it if it were a solid filled in circle. Does that make sense? Different view points (in all areas of life) create different experiences.
Erika and Monique actually low-key knowing each other is so wholesome.
I loved this.
The yolk ISN'T the would be bird, but what the bird would be getting it's nutrition the whole time it's growing in the egg.
Usually if the egg was fertilized accidentally, there is a little red spot, and that's the would be bird.
Yes. Yolk = placenta, white = amniotic fluid. OR, since egg laying existed before live birth, placenta = big olâ flesh yolk.
If I remember from animal science class doesn't the white act as a sort of cushion for the developing embryo and even heat distribution. Not gonna lie it's been about 20 years since I graduated high school so I'm probably just spouting nonsense
@@godrickstockwell1505 I graduated not as long ago. Yeah, I didn't remember the whites thing, but I remembered the rest.
So thats what I saw in my egg the last time I was making choux??
@jellyjinjubaek6968 yep. It wasn't alive, though. It couldn't be. It's too underdeveloped and could never, in the fridge.
I never want this series to end lol
There should be a reverse phoning it in. Where the idiots are in the booth and giving a list of ingredients and the dish name but have to wing the instructions to the chef then the chef needs to decide if they follow their directions or do it themselves. Then the chefs present the dish to the judge and thats when they find out what dish they are supposed to serve.
only if the chefs have to do it exactly as they're told, otherwise it's not much of a challenge for them
the show âworst cooks in americaâ does a challenge like that, except the idiots are tasting a finished dish and attempting to describe / explain what they think it is to a professional chef who has to make it. they call it âremote control chefâ
Rachel will burst a vein and the chefs would consider a career change. Especially if Zachery decides to explain something
When Monique mentioned how her parents gave her a hard time for not winning, my thought, "Yep, typical Asian parents." đđđ I'm Korean btw, so I know.

The egg yolk is not the baby! It's what the baby uses for food as it grows. What becomes the baby is the tiny little white spot on the side of the yolk.
I learned that from watching The Magic School Bus when I was little.
Except that unless the egg was fertilized there is no baby chick in there and no possibility of one... the eggs we eat from the grocery store and from fresh farms have not been fertilized, otherwise, that white spot would appear as a tiny red spot.
@@TraumaMomma Yes, that was also on The Magic School Bus. The first egg they got was from a coop that only had hens, so they had to get another egg from a coop that had roosters in order to hatch a chick.

Pet loss is such a lonely kind of grief. I hide my sadness and donât express it. I relive it every day. I had to make the decision to put down my 12 year old cat in September. He had an aggressive cancer and was not responding to treatment. The experience changed me profoundly. I held my baby as I allowed the doctor to inject him with something that would end his life. I took out the Christmas tree since I knew he wouldnât be with me for the holidays. And now I watch videos of him so I can hear his purr. And I refuse to clean his fur off the chair in my room. I think you should keep the element of the "idiots" directing what the chefs say from last episode, it gives the show a nice synergy where both get a moment to puppet master. How many times did they get new quarters this time?! I feel like they normally only get one chance to play for new quarters - am I wrong? They played like five times! đ
There are other episodes where the chef plays multiple times, there is one where Johnny gets 0 coins and have to play again too, my guess is that the ammount of coins and cup and ball play may vary with how hard the recipe may be because they still want a finished baked good that is somewhat edible.
