Coltrane and McCoy spawned this type of spiritual peace in so called jazz......and these sons have carried it forward...…..Pharoah was right there as well and is still here with Azar and so many others

Azar is a generous and insightful man. I recorded a great music lesson with him at my apartment a few years ago next to the Saint John Coltrane Church on Fillmore St in San Francisco. He helped me get some of my technique together and I'm grateful to this day.

Truly a master class. George Cables! Azar Lawrence! Descendants of the McCoy Tyner and John Coltrane stylistic line. Incredible video.

I would just say that I think Cables comes more from Herbie than McCoy but Azar definitely comes from Trane!

I saw Azar with McCoy, Alex Blake on bass and Billy Hart on drums at The East in Brooklyn in the early 70's and they were on a whole 'nother level than most groups

I know what you're saying, it sounds muffled a bit and pretty "dry". Not his fault, I'd say it's on the sound engineering side or CZcams compression.
