Philippines needs urgently a very strong mining law that dictates the tax volume for foreign companies such as Canadian and Chines who will come for exploration operations chasing these resources.
You need to tax them heavily and make them liable for all environmental restoration and damages caused. This is very important and should be the prime task for DTI Alfredo E. Pascual and other stakeholders.

What beautiful natural features we have could one day be replaced by open pit mines, vast flora, , denudation, disasters to our waterways and the extinction of rare and endangered species. Somehow we have to find a way to significantly reduce the potential damage that wanton mining activities will bring.
