- Belize is a great place for solo travel and group travel, even if you are a beginner traveler! We had an amazing 6-day trip in Belize where we explored throughout the country eating the best food in Ambergris Caye, Hiking through the Waterfalls in the San Ignacio Region, Swimming with Sharks in Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Cave Tubing, Feeding Tarpons in Caye Caulker and so much more. In this video, we will give you a guide to the best things to do in Belize, the places to visit, and tips to make your trip amazing. Be sure to visit the Cayo District or some of the cave branches in Belize if you have the time! We were just in Belize and had to do a return trip about a month later. There is so much to like about Belize and buying land down there is amazing and the reality is there is so much freedom built into ownership down there.

The water taxi was awesome. Everyone Ive talked to said it was a better option. Those Island houses were insane

The story of the flag is funny. When I was a kid in the 70s before independence one of the guy was black and one white. Now one is black and one mestizo. They had the flag made in China or Taiwan at a certain point and it came back one black and the other Chinese.
That's quite an interesting story about the flag! It's amazing how things can change over time, even in the design of a flag. Thanks for sharing!

EDIT: PS - Not sure if you've ever been to St Lucia... but talk about hot sauce.... mmmmm, Baron's scotch bonnet St Lucian hot sauce is the shhhhh... but I promise to try the Belizean hot sauce while we're there.

Hey there! Congrats on conquering Central America! I'm traveling to Belize with my husband and teenage daughter and wondered if you found the drive to San Ignacio challenging to navigate. This will be my first time driving a car outside of the U.S. and would like to know what to expect.

I think you’ll do great. I got my Driver’s license in China when I lived there. It was also the first time I got an accident. My license was company sponsored, but I’m pretty sure that if you’re not in Vietnam or most of Asia on a scooter or one of those countries driving. You should be just fine. With AI, my return to traveling the world will restart in my 40’s. The Digital Nomad lifestyle will commence soon. Essentially coaching 9-15 hours of classes per month can pay for a good lifestyle in most countries with internet 🛜 2nd world country infrastructure abroad.

At the Mahogany Bay when you were filming I didn't seem like there were a lot of people. What should one expect during the summer months at that location

How much did you spend while you were there? If you hadn’t stayed at the resort, how much. How many days/ weeks/ months were you there? Did you need your VPn? I’m looking to move there as a digital nomad for 1-3 months. Plan is to connect with expat community for appropriate pricing like my time in Thailand 🇹🇭 China 🇨🇳 and Taiwan 🇹🇼. My plan is to go in January. Very soon because it’s a 180$ 1 way flight ✈️ from Seattle or Portland. Alternatively open ended ticket for 600$

Do the rental cars have built-in GPS, or do you have to use Google or a portable wifi?
We used it through google maps!

The Belizian dollar is tied to the US dollar. As well as El Salvador in Central America. The reason food is so expensive is the import duties are the highest in Central America in Belize. So it’s local grown it’s way cheaper but the import duties for food is cheaper in Costa Rica but going out to dinner, in Costa Rica , is considerably more expensive which you already know I’m sure.

How do you get from the airport to the water taxi to go to San Pedro? Is it close to the airport?

What's interesting is I've never had problems with mosquitos, and I typically go once a year. My only thought is it may have something to do with the fact that I don't eat beef or pork, which may come out in your pores.
Hey there! When do you typically go to Belize? I've been during summer, winter and spring. The mosquitos can be quite relentless in winter, at least from my experience. If you traveled in winter I will have to give up meat. 😂

What company did you book through for Mahogany Bay in Belize?
We booked directly with the hotel!

You can only book through Hilton for any property in Mahogany Bay resort. Even if somebody owns a home there and wants to rent it out they must go through Hilton and that will give you access to the mahogany bay beach. There are some properties further away in Mahogany Bay that you can rent directly through Airbnb and Verbo, but you do not gain access to the mahogany bay beach.

There was some relevant information however you did way too much talking head stuff. The creators face brings nothing the story and there's so much scenery and Belize that you need to use way way way way way way more cutaways and voiceovers. Talking Heads really bring nothing to the video.
