Parkitect: Taste of Adventure (Part 8) - Victoria Island
Vložit
- čas přidán 8. 09. 2024
- A sequel of sorts to the original game's 3rd scenario, Victoria Island is a tropical resort hotel waiting for expansion. The island's design is loosely based on Wii Sports Resort's Wuhu Island, so what better to fill it in with than a colorful Parkitect incarnation of Wuhu Town?
Well, so I thought, but eventually things started spiralling into a larger and larger build, resulting in a 2 hour timelapse video. Hope you all enjoy!

7:30 those pictures were very insightful into why you didn't like the earlier iterations, they make me appreciate your insistence on perfection even more
Am I the only one not seeing it?
Lol, oops. Let's agree to forget I ever said anything about that and no one will have to look at the damning evidence.
@@Silvarret been watching you for around 8 years or more and can acknowledge the fact that every time you want to include pictures in the video or links in the description, you forget😂
@@Flakecorns796 You're absolutely right and I cannot promise that I will ever become a better person
@@Silvarret That explains a lot🤪😅
However long the wait is, Silv's videos are always worth it
Dive loop: Half twist, then half loop (you DIVE into the LOOP)
Immelmann: Half loop, then twist
:D
A dive loop dives into the loop, an immelman is a dogfight manoeuvre to evade a chasing enemy airplane.
Oh how I miss your Parkitect videos! luckily I discovered Astro Tron on this hiatus and didn't feel so abandoned 😂
What I love most about your videos is that I end up discovering countless other information and curiosities about parks and attractions. For example, in this one I already researched the Topple Towers around the world (there are two more still in operation, one in China and the other in Vietnam), the Helter Skelter slides (like many I thought that the design of the Parkitect slide simply honored RCT ), and what a nice surprise it was to see videos of Kolumbusjolle on CZcams!
And I'm only halfway through the video yet. I usually spend hours watching your videos because I pause and go Google the references you mention. Don't care about the length, the longer the better! 😄
I hope one day I improve myself enough and start making my Parkitect videos too! Thank you for sharing your gameplay and knowledge with us!
This has to be the best scenario in the series so far! I absolutely love how it feels like 1 connected whole that could be a real place and the way everything interacts with eachother, I love it
This looks absolutely incredible when zoomed out, and the whole park is in view. I'm surprised you didn't add a train station next to the park entrance (hotel), or near the further-out attractions. Since the train was so profitable, will we be seeing more trains in future scenarios?
I honestly just didn't know how to fit another station building in elsewhere! There aren't many scenarios left so I'm not sure I'll ever get to use the train again, but who knows.
Wow what a great park. I like the burial grounds under the palm trees. Your shape work is on point this episode. I'm going to steal some of the roof ideas.
Thank you! I still might try your roof idea (with the tiles) at some point, but haven't gotten around to it yet :')
HES BACK AND WITH A 2 HOUR VIDEO! LIFE = COMPLETE
“I couldn’t leave this beach… un-beached-on.”-Silv
I remember this scenario and you're not alone - I couldn't really get the theme right somehow and everything looked off. I've started over about 4-5 times and still got a result I wasn't really happy with. I just wanted it to end at some point.
Honestly relatable! I tried to design scenario maps with themes that players can easily build off of, but that didn't really work out for me in Victoria Island. I've seen others pull it off well, though!
Silvarret, you never fail to impress with your incredible park designs and attention to detail. The Victoria Island theme in this video is so unique and the architecture of the buildings and rides really adds to the overall atmosphere of the park
A two hour video?! It surely is Sinterklaas then!
Extra comment: I think you should build longer queues for your flatrides. I try to build them as long as you can fit an entire fill for the ride. Otherwise your ride will operate half empty.
It's great to see you coming back to Parkitect! Your Parkitect series is my all-time favorite. Just seeing you building a park brighten my day. Please keep it coming :)
Enjoyed every single minute. These 2h flies past you like nothing. 😍👌
I'm so glad I tuned in for this. Such a beautiful park! It reminds me of the first one I built, where I turned Maple Meadows into an autumnal garden, with lots of brick and oxidized copper. I had wanted to put a train in it, but I wasn't convinced the visitors would ever use it. I never got the hang of transport rides in RCT, and I don't know if they actually work any better in Parkitect.
Finally oh my god! A year! A freaking year! Ugh. Right, okay watching
So good to hear you talk about Kolumbusjolle! It’s such an underrated gem and has been one of my favorite rides at Europa-Park for years 🎉
Right!! I wish there were more well-themed flat rides like that, too often they feel like an afterthought but they can be veritable attractions on their own.
Love Silv's videos as always! Glad to see you're still around! Please continue to upload at your pace, dont burn yourself out~
I definitely won't, thanks! You'll only get videos from me when I want to make them 8)
Coming from Sweden I have to say I prefer the more continental European approach of adding a McDonalds and slapping on a bunch of ugly signs on your old buildings. Our old city centers were mostly demolished to make place for "modern" shopping gallerias during the 60s and 70s. At least you get to keep the upper levels and facades.
Finally got around to watching this whole video while waiting for my flight. Love your work and attention to detail on this one. Great job mate!
Thanks mate!!
The way I remember the difference between an Immelmann and a dive loop is in a dive loop, you dive, then you loop (Corkscrew then half loop, the main factor is the loop in the second half). An Immelmann is also known as a sidewinder (by Arrow) so you can think of it as entering straight and leaving to he side. I hope this helps!
Was sad to hear you critizise your intro so harshly @3:30, didn't notice anything wrong about. Nice clear and concise!
Another amazing video, and also when it comes to the Topple Tower I know of one more, in Marineland in Canada, and it’s basically never open
9:50 Immelmanns are the ones found commonly on Inverted coasters, with a half loop followed by a corckscrew. On the other hand, dive loops go up an incline, invert and then dive underneath the track, so they have the half loop second. Just remember Immelmann -> Inverted coaster maybe 😅
always lovely to see a new parkitect video from you! personally i don't mind the length bc i know it means we're going to see the park completed. but i also totally appreciate how much work it is for you. so thanks for sharing :)
3:47 lol absolution era muse is literally %50 percent breathing
Lol, Glad I'm not the only one who got that reference :)
There is one single rail coaster without a lift hill. Luna Park in Sydney opened the worlds first launched single rail coaster almost a year ago to the day! Intamin's first of this coaster type.
Also - long time watcher, first time commenter (have to show Australia's small theme park game some love when the opportunity presents itself). Love your work!
The view from the bridge near the beach, looking out over the lake towards the mountain. That must be worth it.
Man, this architecture is some of your best! I especially liked the building and transition from the beach to looping back to the twister ride. Something about the raised path beside the beach is so satisfying to me. Great video!
Yesss more Parkitect!!! I watch your videos on my TV and didn't even notice your breathing or lack of energy, so no worries. Just happy to get this new MEGA episode from you!
Absolutely love your Parkitect Videos. They are helping me with learning how to theme my parks and i really enjoy your Monologues about Oostende or japanese Architectury or...or..else.
Besides that, you have a very frriendly and warm voice, i like to listen to it while doing something else or taking a nap. Thanks for your work. Next video three hours, probably? ;)
Thank you!! Can't promise it'll be 3 hours but I'm working on the next video - and I won't think about losing the long monologues ;)
(because you mentioned this during the intamin construction) Immelman is a vertical half loop followed by half a zero g roll
a dive loop is a half zero g roll into a downward half loop
Epic park btw
There were six topple towers built
other than the two you've mentioned there was one at Wallygator Park which is now operating in Vietnam, Dollywood, Marine Land in Ontario Canada, and is one operating in China
Oh wow, I had no idea there were that many!
Could watch these videos all day.
Glad to see you back. Btw just remember: on a Dive Loop you’re diving into the half loop. ❤
I really wish there was a bigger community of streamers for Parkitect, because I love watching people create, & creating myself in Parkitect.
Same I've been trying to stream some parkitect. Maybe soon.
Love watching both of you guys too!! And agreed, I've been trying my best but unfortunately Parkitect just doesn't reach the same kind of audience as e.g. Planet Coaster/Zoo.
Aaah, he's back! Big fan of your Parkitect videos. You've got a great imagination and a wonderful sense of creativity, so watching you build a park like this, especially in a long-form video, is always a blast.
10:00 Immelmans vs Dive Loops. While their shaping is typically identical, it's all about the direction the train is traveling. Dive Loops *dive* down to the ground (simple), while Immelmans *pull up* into an inversion. I use the *pull up* analogy because an Immelman is originally a fighter jet maneuver and you can imagine a jet using that shape to turn around 180* vertically instead of a horizontal turn. Examples of dive loops are the second inversion on Sea World Orlando's, Kraken and the first inversion on King's Island's, Banshee. Examples of Immelmans are the first inversion of EVERY B&M Dive Machine.
Watched all the way to the end! The length of this video definitely makes up for the absence of Parkitect content :) love the park!
I literally forgot how much i enjoy watching these parkitect videos. Glad you’re back with a 2 hour long episode😅
Amazing, can't wait for another planet coaster vid.
I am at Europa Park about 2-3 times a year. But I was never on Columbus Jollen. Mostly because I do not like rides that goes just around, but I will try it next time.
Concerning the Dive-Loop/Immelmann issue: Try to think of a DIVE-Loop as a "first twist, then dive down" move. And with Immelmann, thinking of the origin of the term in aerial maneuvers might help. :)
Fantastic! I don’t watch this game outside of you, but I never miss a video. Glad to see you back!
Oh, nice to see this series again! Literally I've bought thew game a week ago, and was taking your videos as an inspiration of how to design my parks
amazing video as always and well worth the wait :D though shame you didn't get to build that cruise ship docking area you talked about in the middle of the video
Honestly I didn't forget it, I just thought the video was long enough already!
Yay you are back! I was waiting patiently for the next episode of Parkitect and you did not dissapoint :) Watching your build videos is so calming, best way to relax for me :D
the rustic upper area with all the coasters/train on top of each other is giving me hershey park vibes.
Legends say the traped Cleaning guy in the Train station still walks from left to right.😆
Next thing I knew I had sat through a two hour SIlvarret video
Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee had a topple tower called Timber Tower a longggg time ago. Had nice theming, though.
Too self critical!!! just know any episode you upload speaks for itself you're so creative and entertaining naturally thanks for giving me something to watch!
There was also a topple tower in Dollywood TN for several years in the early 2010s :D
This scenario with a train as mvp is basically "Lucas the Locomotive Driver" in a nutshell
Great to hear another monologue from you.
I don't think you have to worry about the sound of your voice - I honestly didn't notice anything. Besides, your vibe is relaxing to begin with, so a little laid back and vocal fry-ish doesn't hurt.
OMG 👋👋👋👋 Miss your videos. Welcome back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
10:09 If we’re getting technical the first element is actually a sidewinder. But that’s another argument entirely
Absolutely epic build, and congrats on WRs for longest parkitect video and longest mine train 🤣
RIP to the poor janitor who was trapped in your first train station for about 12 years
9:50 to remember the difference between a dive-loop and an Immelmann, you can think that "loop" comes second in "dive loop", so a dive loop is corkscrew + loop, and an Immelmann the other way
That's a good one!
Alright for you dive loop immelman analogy. So a dive loop is when the half loop goes down like your diving to the ground and an immelman is named after a pilot named immelman and it was a plane trick so think of going up like a plane. But there is wonderful more just to make you more confused. A sidwinder. A sidewinder is when you do a half loop up and then a half corkscrew. So half of a cobra roll. Think of them both being snakes. And a corkscrew followed by a half loop is still a dive loop for some reason. Also it seems like a missed opportunity to build the red iron bridge from Wuhu island.
Honestly, I think that the freeform nature of computer aided design makes identifying elements more and more difficult. Perfectly identifiable sidewinders and dive loops are a thing of premade Arrow-style elements, there are too many modern coasters that take these terms with a grain of salt! I'll try to remember the dive loop analogy though, thanks 8)
No problem. Also, it doesn't help that parks will decide to name and element differently but it's the exact same or inches or degrees off and be like: "That's a new element. No, it definitely is not the exact same and we decided to name it differently for a marketing campaign. Why would we ever do that." 😓😓😓
I’m not familiar with the Wii Island you mentioned. But that initial building gave me Stanley Hotel from The Shining vibes. 😅 I like your theme better 😂
A 2 hour video, damn. No way I can take a sit to watch the video in one run, this is gonna be a video on my second screen while doing other stuff (while in the end still doing nothing and pay full attention to the video for the whole 2 hours xD)
9:51 exactly the other way around. It's pretty easy tho: A diveloop is typically when you take a roll to afterwards 'dive' downwards (aka taking the half loop downwards). And Immelman is the opposite, taking the halfloop upwards and roll out of it at the top.
I would love to see a scenario or build of a boardwalk theme park, like Coney Island !
You usually have very big walkways, mostly 3 wide. I was thinking, maybe take the center lane out and change it to water? Perhaps even let the water rides make use of it. Could be fun!
1:13:30 The new Six Flags park in Saudi Arabia will actually build a drop tower, that starts underground.
Awesome job! Very inspiring build!
Wow, 2 hours of Parkitect, we've been blessed! Fantastic to listen to while doing some work from home (I definitely wasn't watching, no no, I was working I swear!).
When you talked about how you were doing the 'ugly backside' of the buildings in a 'realistic' way and not in the 'Disney' way, I couldn't help but think of GoodTimesWithScar and the 'Disney' style theme park he's building in Minecraft. I'd love to hear you two talk about theming and rides and the differences between games, you're both so passionate about it! I don't know if you're still in touch with Keralis at all, he plays with Scar, maybe, if I dare suggest it, a collab?
omg 2 hours!!! popcorn time
everytime you upload a video i get so hyped😂😝😂
goed ben je weer terug voor parkitect;)
"Why don't more parks do drop towers underground?"
There is one. There's a "drop tower" that exists in an old mine shaft. I forget the name now,.
This park is amazing!!
heering minetrain gives me anxiety from Jägerhorn that the project takes a few years until finished haha.
Excited for your next Aerobats of Arabia upload. One of my favorite creative series on CZcams!
It's coming soon, probably in about a week!
I didn't realise this newer scenario existed. Cheers silv I'll have to blow the dust off my parketect and have a look.
PS. Please rescue that poor peep who's been pacing left and right under your golden domed station for years. :)
Do note that you need the Taste of Adventure DLC for this scenario, it's not in the base game! Now I'm afraid that guest is doomed to suffer eternally, it is what it is (good catch, though).
@@Silvarret All DLC was purchased and completed.. Gold awards on all of the scenarios which allowed for pausing whilst building. Even the horror one where it was almost constantly raining, Causing guests to begin headbutting everything in sight. That was overcome by covering every exposed path and ride. LOL
I Loved riding the coasters / wandering the park in first person with that plugin too.
So, citytrip to Brussels, Oostende and Bellewaerde? Thanks for promoting Belgium!
It's noticable you struggled with this scenario. Although it's cohesive, there are some parts that don't really fit the theme (ae the stations of the floorless and launched), but I understand your reasoning.
Nevertheless great video and 2 hours of my life well spent!
wow, an early christmas present ;)
love the video
Silv any time he builds a terrain floorless: This was inspired by hair raiser
Oops, you're right
Someone sponsor this man a new harddrive
This video made me rewatch the other Taste of Adventure videos. I feel like your English became slightly more natural in this video.
That's interesting! I rarely speak English anymore these days, mostly just for videos (in contrast to 2-5 years ago, when I lived abroad)
IT’S BACK!
i absolutely love it and want to dissect the map and buildings :D pls upload some new content for Parkitect! and gratz on new PC
I'll upload all the scenarios when I'm done with the campaign!
Nice park.
omg he's back let's gooooo man
1:49:30 - look at the swan boats, you’re welcome.
Marineland in Niagara Falls, Canada also had a Topple Tower. Decommissioned, unfortunately.
You’re amazing
Getting a new PC is always so exciting!! What are the specs on your new PC?
YESSSSSSS URRRR BACKCKCKCKKC
Lol at 18:06 right after you finished "all I'm saying is" i got an ad break where someone told me i have 10 lbs of poop inside me
Your vids are awsome, 2 hours would never be too much hahahha
I know S&S wants to revive the Steeplechase but its low capacity/space hungry despite being a single rail coaster, so that's probably why no one has bought one
Love you silv ! 2h im so glaaad
omg he is back
YOOOO LETS GOOO
It is - kind of - nice to see your struggle with this scenario, since I tried it multuple times for about two weeks and ended up cheating that level and skipped it completely. Something with this level made it that hard - I still don't know what it was...
I think the goal of getting to 4k monthly ride income for 3 months straight is really difficult, especially with the limited space available.
imelman is half loop first and dive loop is corkscrew first
With the dive loop you dive into the loop. With the Immelmann you don't do that
