I live near the Bates. I'll say this...they are the best behaved and most musically talented kids I've ever seen. I've seen them at the local Walmart and they spread out but don't cause any commotion or problems.

Agree, all the spouses have jobs and not dependent on the dad as Jim Duggar's kids. Some of the Duggar's kids have left the strict humdrum life and are being very modern. I am still a fan of the Bates. I was up on the 17th awaiting the arrival of Katie's baby, Hailey.
I think the Bates family is a great testimony. I love the way Tori and Bobby pray together about their lives and what God's guidance and direction. I also think Kelly Jo is a great mom guiding and teaching her children. Her older children also help teach and help the younger children. Their mom and dad are guiding their older children to help raise their brother's and sisters. This will help them when their raising their own children. So many young people don't even want children cause they don't want to take the time to raise and guide their children.

I think you are missing my point here: They say that they refuse to use birth control because they are letting God control the number of children. Wouldn't using hormones to invoke a viable pregnancy defeat that same purpose? To me, when your hormones, it's basically a huge middle finger to God who is saying, "Okay, I think you've had enough children." PS. You seem to have a problem with people who have intelligent thoughts. I do not have that issue. My father came from a huge family so how can I? What I have an issue with is when a person says they'll let God's will be done in regulating the number of children that will be born to them and then they decide to use hormones to have just one more. Birth control is a hormone and they refuse to use it so why use it to keep a pregnancy? To me that's not letting God be in control, that's man being in control.

If Mr. & Mrs. Bates are able to take care of that number of children, and provide for them without placing a further burden on the backs of the taxpayers, which apparently they are, based upon what I've seen of them and their family on the internet and on TV, then I hope the Lord blesses them with as many as he sees fit. Of course I have only ever seen them on TV, but the children appear to be intelligent, very talented, clean, healthy, well mannered, and respectful, so I believe that these are great parents, blessed abundantly by the Lord. And she's also 45 -- does she think she's Sarah, the woman from the Bible who was able to miraculously bear a child in her old age?!

I'm from the U.K and there is a family called the Radford's who live down the road from me .They have 20 kids, they have a t.v program called 20 kids and counting .
They are not a burden to anyone, it would not be my choice, however they seem healthy well behaved human beings. There are families with many less children, that don’t turn out nearly as well. They feed them, they clothe them, they educate them,they love them. Leave them alone. They seem to have a handle on this folks.

This is funny because I follow Lawson on Facebook and Instagram..He also sings a lot of country music that is not what you would picture of him singing based on their show..He does not sing about getting drunk and sleeping around but he does sing about falling in love and things like that..
