  • Jutting out of the Atlantic Ocean off the Kerry coast, the spectacular Skellig Islands are world renowned for their ornithological and archaeological significance. The islands are wild, unusual, and as described by George Bernard Shaw, 'part of our dream world'.

well, I kayaked out to Cloughoughter Castle & had lunch. climbed Croagh Patrick & splinted a school girls leg after she fell & helped carry her down to the stone wall to await rescue, saw Hellfire Club Montpelier Hill @ night, tasted my first Beef steak mushroom, got lost in Co Clare & found my own special hidden dolmens & discovered Irelands beautiful green marble.

That is a different way to explore Ireland, very adventurous! Good thing you were there to help the girl out on Croagh Patrick. Ireland is not a terrible place to get lost, you discover new things as you already experienced. :D

December 2017. Record numbers on trollies in Galway hospital and another 500,000 about to be spent on Wild Atlantic Way advertising on Facebook.

      What are you talking about?
The amount of small businesses and Irish people that rely on tourism for their livelihood is phenomenal. It puts food on the table for thousands of Irish people. Pointing the finger at tourism budget allocation is the most arbitrary and misguided nonsense I've ever read. Is there a hospital crisis? Yes. Does pointing the finger at tourism industry help? Probably not. Tourism is one of those things we all benefit from. And how do you think we're going to pay to resolve the hospital issue? Definitely by not neglecting one of our most important industries. But I don't know economics or how to run a country. That's just my opinion.
