- Every summer the Concert Band, Cruisers and Sea Chanters perform on the plaza at the Navy Memorial for the U.S. Navy Band's "Concerts on the Avenue" series. "Eyes Like Yours," composed by Shakira, Pablo Flores and Javier Garza, was a particular crowd favorite from the 2013 summer series. The piece was arranged by Senior Chief Musician Scott Silbert and features Musicians 1st Class Casey Elliot (vocals) and Jonathan Yanik (soprano saxophone).
I am a soldier from Ukraine. And I fell in love with this girl and her voice. I have been listening to this song performed by her for many years and I like it. Thank you!❤

Casey Elliot was captivating. She set the mood, and was well supported by the band, players and singers, who also got the Arabic singing, clapping and Eastern intonation right! Jonathan Yanik was superb on the Soprano Saxophone, and Scott Silbert's arrangement was brilliant!! Compliments to the US Navy and their classy musicians.
I never heard this song before until I heard this version. After I listened to the original song by Shakira, this is ABSOLUTELY much better! Casey's voice is absolutely gorgeous!
I have found that I like the Navy Band's version better for most of the songs they sing!

The Armed Services attract some of the most talented musicians in America and probably a few new citizens from around the world. It would be difficult to travel the world all year, but these men and women would be great ambassadors.
