That voice is like a time machine for me. Straight back to my childhood. RIP.
As a kid our childhood dream was imagining Fink announcing us as the Neeeeeeeeeew WWF world champion. I've been a WWF/WWE fan here for 40 years . How many of us as kids pretended we were Howard Finkel and announcing that we had won the belt from a brother or a friend? I know I did. I have seen many announcer's including the so-called famous announcers. Howard Cosell, Michael Buffer ( Let's get ready to Rumble )to name a few and many many more. Howard was the best bar none and He made you feel anticipation when waiting for a title to change hands in the WWF/WWE was just as exciting as the match because you knew Howard was going to say" AND NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW He was just as important on giving wrestlers a push as the wrestlers themselves.. No, He didn't look like Michael Buffer or Robert Redford which made working in the WWF/WWE a possible dream for anyone. Can you imagine when Howard arriving in heaven and God saying" Ladies and Gentle, The winner in life and entrance through the pearly gates and of this beautiful Heaven and Newwwwwwwwwwwwww Arrival to eternal life. Howard Finnnnnkel. r.i.p Howard, You are already missed.
I did the same impersonation, from 1987 all the way until today, for my own son. Even did it for our long running backyard wrestling outfit as a teenager. That dude's voice is just, I mean, it is forever.
Although, to be fair, I definitely put Fink & Michael Buffer on an even standing. Certainly not from a *purely* pro wrestling standpoint, but when it comes to iconic ring announcers, I think Buffer is right up there with The Fink... and those two of them are head and shoulders above the rest.
And yeah, I do a mean Buffer impression for my 18 month old, too. He loves them. He probably thinks his old man's lost his mind, but he loves them, by golly. 🤷♂️

Omg half these guys have passed away, I'm a female old school wrestling fan from the early 80'S and this guys voice was gold, he'd make you feel like you won the match, awesome

I always have chills running through even till this day hearing his voice! The Fink is the greatest announcer in sports/sports entertainment along with Michael Buffer of course! You can't touch those two!

Howard Finkel has one of the most iconic ring announcer voices of the attitude era. He made the opening of Wrestlemania, the crowning of a new champion, and even the start of a match sound so exciting. Howard you will be missed, rest easy my friend.

I grew up with Howard Finkle when I started watching wrestling back in 1989 never will be replaced
I first seen and heard him live back in 1996. He gave me goosebumps. The man had an awesome voice.
This was beautiful. I have my Howard Finkel, Bobby Heenan, Gorilla Monsoon, and Mean Gene Oketlund Action figures all put up on display in my room. So I love how the video ended showing him with one of each of those guys.
So used to see him back in da days. Didn’t know he passed. He was a great announcer. Rip Howard.
That part starting at 2:22 made me tear up seeing all those who have since passed.

Fink’s skill set made 80’s/90’s WWF/WWE significantly more exciting... Especially as a kid growing up in the 80’s. When we would hear “neeeeeeeew’. We would just freak out! No in ring announcer did it better and best of all... A super gracious dude! Most underrated talent in WWF history...

It was like yesterday, they were all there, Ray Morgan at ring side, Vince at the mike, Mean Gene and of coarse Howard Finkel saying here is the champ Bruno Samartino and don't forget Bo Bo!
It was in the late 50s and all thru the 60s, getting that $5.00 wrestling ticket for the Garden, Steve and I from Bethpage, NY.
Time rolls along but those times built what this great business is today!
My heart feels sad for those who cannot be with us. But I know all this history, this great history, Thanks, Thanks for the best times!
