    In this video I take a picture with my phone from the V for Vendetta comic book then print out the image onto a transparency. I burn the image into an EZscreenprint sheet and then print the deisgn onto a shirt using Speedball Ink.
    I have used a alot of screen printing kits. Like the ones you can get from Ryonet. but this is just so simple and easy. I like catspitproductions videos, I wish I had a space that large to work in!
    I do not recommend Yudu. It does not remove enough of the steps to be worth buying it over a Speedball Kit.

      @michelemyankazt6657 Před 7 lety +3

      You have to do a screen for each section with the same color; for example if his eyes and hat feather are both blue they would be on the same screen separate from everything else. I hope I am not confusing you. Good luck on your shirts, please send me a pic if you do one with multiple colors.

    Great idea. It's about the quality of the print. You can clearly see it comes out very well, and the face you can reuse it over and over, it's excellent.

    Yes simple is relative...but after years of teaching art, I gave up on all the work it takes to make screens, stretch, coat, expose and reclaim. Maybe this year my students will get the chance to experience the fun of screenprinting with these products. Thank you for a great tutorial...my students will definitely enjoy your video, too...as I did. Know anyone who wants a pile of old screens?

    Really nice clear video. It's easy for what you get and once you have familiarity with software, phone, ordering packages, etc.
    I don't see in general why vector graphic is necessary (or for that matter black print), but I have not done this before (just watched youtube vids). Vector graphics would help to avoid blocky/pixelly edges on pic if the resolution is a problem. Maybe it is (haven't done it so don't know). Black could be preferred to really block the UV light if for some reason light colors fail at this.

    Thank you for the tutorial. Never done screen printing so it's interesting way to make own shirts. I used to do my illustrations similar way as you did the first part. I draw a picture in pencil, than outlined in ink pen or Sharpie, erase the pencil than scan it into computer and saved it in black and white picture document. Cleaned it up. Than saved it in multicolor and filled in color. It came out pretty good.
    Anyway....have you tried print on iron on paper and than use heated iron to transfer on shirt? I wonder how is it different than screen printing when it comes to quality?

    HERE'S a much simpler way:Make a cheap black and white photocopy of the picture you want to transfer onto the new t shirt.(You can buy new plain t shirts at dollar stores in the spring/summer season for about three dollars,Canadian).Also buy a package of clear plastic acetate sheets from the same dollar store.Also buy some PERMANENT markers from the same dollar store and an exacto knife.When you get all this cheap stuff home put the cheap black and white photocopy on a clean table and put a clear acetate sheet on top of the phoptocopy.(Underneath all of this place a large square of cardboard).Then take a black permanent marker and trace the outline of the picture you want to put on the t shirt onto the clear plactic actetate sheet.Then cut that outline out with the exacto knife.Then take the t shirt you want to put the picture on and put a lage rectangle of cardboard inside the t shirt to protect the back of the t shirt from the permanent marker.Then place the cut out clear plastic acetate sheet (stencil) onto the fron of the t shirt and measure equal distances from both side seams to place the stencil properly in the center.(You can place the top of the stencil just under the collar seam of the t shirt).Then draw through the stencil with your permanent marker.Doing this will transfer the outline of your picture onto the t shirt.If you want to color this picture in you should paint it with HALF ACRYLIC PAINT MIXED WITH HALF WATER.IF YOU USE JUST UNDELUTED ACRYLIC PAINT IT WILL DRY TOO STIFF.IF YOU ARE PAINTING ON A BLACK OR ANY OTHER DARK COLORED T SHIRT THE OUTLINE OF THE IMAGE YOU WANT TO PUT ON THE T SHIRT HAS TO BE BLEACHED OUT FIRST.THE OUTLINE OF THE IMAGE AND ACTIUALLY THE ENTIRE IMAGE HAS TO BE BLEACHED OUT FIRST BEFORE YOU TRANSFER THE IMAGE EITHER BY USING A STENCIL OR BY CREATING A CARBON FROM THE CHEAP BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOCOPY.(PLEASE GOOGLE:HOW TO MAKE CARBON PAPER,YOU CAN USE PENCIL INSTEAD OF INK .INK WOULD LIKELY BLEED WHEN WASHED.ALSO YOU SHOULD GOOGLE:HOW TO MAKE A STENCIL.After you bleach out the area you want to transfer the design to on a dark t shirt you can transfer that design onto that bleached out area using a home made carbon or a home made stencil.Then you can paint in the outline with HALF ACRYLIC PAINT MIXED WITH HALF WATER.PLEASE DONT USE JUST PLAIN UNDELUTED ACRYLIC PAINT OR IT WILL DRY TOO STIFF.THERE ARE ONLY TWO TYPES OF PAINT YOU SHOULD USE ON T SHIRTS (AND OTHER FABRICS):REGULAR ACRYLIC PAINT DELUTED EQUAL PARTS WITH WATER OR ACRYLIC LATEX INTERIOR HOUSPAINT.ACRYLIC LATEX INTERIOR HOUSEPAINT DRYS STRETCHY BUT REGULAR ACYLIC CRAFT/ART PAINT DRYS TOO STIFF FOR T SHIRTS AND OTHER FABRICS IF UNDELUTED.
