Taken from the April 5th livestream, this is an in-depth into the story of Lost Ark following the events of East Luterra. This is a two-part series, with the first part covering the game's history before the start. The purpose of these videos is to give people an abridged version of the story so that they know what's going on if they skipped through everything by mashing the G button.
A lot of what is featured in the theorycrafting bits are discussions that were held by premier LOA lore expert 박서림 (Park Seorim). Because of that, there are some notable spoilers. Please check out his channel here, he sometimes posts lore-related videos with English captions.
Also please note, the events of Rowen are not included in this video, but they provide some notable context about Sacria and surrounding elements of the game's story.

Loving this lore series, this makes me so hyped for what's to come
The store is actually pretty good it's a bit cliche but I mean how do you avoid that totally these days you know what I mean for this genre there's just certain tropes that are almost necessary but it's not the typical you know cosmic beyond mankind scope b******* that a lot of MMOs do like even though this does deal with like godlike power it still feels very grounded
this is going to be the greatest story ever told in 2031 when its complete

This comes to show how important the actual story telling is compared to the source material, i couldve played threw this entire game and thought meh this story line is very cliche, barebones, ect but when Saint goes and tells the story in the way he does it makes the story seem very interesting and layered. Thank you Saint for telling a great story
The thing is for the most part, you have to piece the story together. Just following the main plot line itself makes it sounds just like the generic hero story. almost 50-60% of the story telling in these vids are past settings or story pieces that you have to dig around in the game to kinda get a hint of and the only reason people were able to put together this story is because the game is out for years now in KR and people there have gone through the effort of digging through the lore. It's not the story writing fault, it's just cuz a very large proportion of players don't like to dig around the game and find funny tid bits
Smilegate has another game Epic Seven and has a similar story of repeating worlds, in E7 we are in the seven incarnation of the world and we try to stop the world from ending. When the earlier worlds fell the god in E7 creates the planet again and all the people of before but they are strip of past memories of their life. Certain few still remember including the main character and a race of angelic beings who only 1 still remains.

I never watched the Yorn storyline, so hearing that Disney-like song about being a blacksmith was legendary.
Thank you for the great videos. G spammed main story cause it was poorly told/voiced. I loved Ezrebet's story and I didn't mind the sneaking quests, so it was nice to see one of my favorite characters/stories (one of the few told well) incorporate into the main story.
Wow I love these videos. I always loved the lore but when it’s all laid out like this, it’s really something special. I think it’s more than just cliche, it’s actually a beautiful metaphor for todays society. People thinking they are good, and striving for goodness, but in actuality their tendencies and sheer ignorance to bad consequences lead to more despair than they intend.
There is one thing that is missing here and I think it is one of the first in the whole story. Once you defeat the second tower is the first time you hear about the pillars of Petrania and that you need to find them by the knight that is affected by CHAOS - which is probably also linked to Kakul Saydon somehow or worse. So it is also plausible once you have the ark then you need to gather the 7 pillars of Petrania next (because everyone seems to love that number).
Hey Saintone! Loved your story telling, but I'm hoping to get your attention cuz I noticed some *errors* in your part 1 lore video (details that might affect the narrative of future lore significantly). Most of it is regarding the origins of the Universe and how it works (of how everything is at an equilibrium, with everything being balanced out by a counterpart). This state of equilibrium (equivalent exchange??) is really important to note because a lot of potential future plotlines hinge on this (as well as Kharmine and Kakul-Saydon's future plotpoints).
1. For instance, the Ark actually has a counterpart in Chaos: an entity called "being that existed since the beginning of time" (this being is the origin/source of all of Igrahim's generals that betrayed him). Ark was also NOT created by Regulus, but rather is a natural entity. That is important because it serves as a motive for both Igrahim AND Khazeros in their hunt for the Ark--Gods can only create finite matter/beings without the Ark.
2. Death wasn't created by Regulus. It was a natural byproduct of life, since the universe MUST be at an equilibrium. So Regulus creating life naturally created death. The creation of Arkesia subsequently influenced the formation of Petrania.
3. Additionally, the Red Moon & Petrania was not formed by Igrahim. Rather, the "being that existed since the beginning of time" created them. This is why Arkesia and Petrania resonate with each other(one being created by the Ark, and the other by the "being" which is the counterpart) and were/are in a collision course. Important to note is the "being that existed since the beginning of time" is actually a being that has its own set of rules (so is a bit on the Order scale of things) and is a contradiction to the Chaos realm. Which plays a part into how it and its creations betrayed Igrahim and supported Khazeros. The Red Moon that is created in Arkesia is also created by this "being" as well. This "being" and its creations may play a big role in later story (and is linked to Kakul-Saydon or Ezrebeth npc)
4. Vairgrys was not created by the Gods. The Ark created it--after absorbing the energy present from the Order & Chaos clashing. Which is why he is completely independent from either Gods.

Pretty sure he's right it doesn't actually say anywhere Lupeon actually created the ark he just used it to create the universe. Originally Everything was Chaos tho and lupeon basically split away from that and created orpheus or w.e so what he's saying about the being that existed since the beginning is probably the primordial chaos entity kakul and cthulu lady work for.

@@feeblemind Yeah. If I recall correctly, the Ark is also called the First light that existed since the inception. So it is believed that it simply existed in the original universe before Regulus took it and split the universe. What's more interesting is the "being that existed since the beginning of time", or the primordial being. Nobody knows where it came from, but it was always around (like the Ark) and has significant influence (and we encounter one of its creations/subordinates in the form of Ezrebeth in Sublime Isle).
Ive basically skipped all cutscenes in the game and didnt understand any of the lore. Thank you for this! I never even saw the yorn singing, that was histerical!
The only thing I would tell people not to over think is the final thing he talked about, being the quest "land of truth". The logs you can find in that quest heavily imply/make clear that it is just an easter egg the game developers made for fun and simply kept growing because they loved making it so much.
HOWEVER!!! In the "otherworld"/"land of truth" there ARE actual hints and clues given to the player about future content including continents, countries, races, and even future important characters. Some of which Saint points too as potentially coming out later, in this video. If you don't wanna do the quest, the whole thing is on youtube and is actually incredible, I would highly recommend checking it out!
Speaking about Kadan, if you take a look at his card in your card catalog, you can see in front of him is Thaemine, and its the only card that shows someone else besides the character on the card (Nineveh card only has Nineveh, Shandi only has Shandi... get it?)

Ezrebet stories and concept seems to relies heavily on the Lovecraftian horror (Yes it's also the inspiration of bloodborne)
Makes me wonder if Kakul Saydon might be a representation of Nyarlathotep with how much he is facinated with Chaos and Insanity.
Thanks for these story videos. I'm trying to keep up with the story as I play through but find myself only half paying attention. I wish they would have done more voice acting for the quest dialogs. But now I have more of a familiarty about what is going on as I make my way through the main quests!

Interesting parallels between Lost Ark and SG's other game Epic 7 where in you are also the hero that puts and end to a repeating cycle in the 7th rebirth of the world (thus the name of the game).

One thing that bothered me about Yorn was how Balthor was talking about how he was gonna make me a weapon at the end, but then I never got the weapon lol. I mean why even add that to the story, might as well have just said it was to fix Thirain's sword.
May be wrong here, but in the end he do craft a weapon for us, they are called esther weapons, which are absurdly p2w (as in, expensive to make them worth) and come with Brelshaza.

The going theory is that Kharmine is one of the surviving Haals (esp since Kharmine excels at teleportation/dimension magic which the Haals were forerunners in)
i wouldve thought kakul and saydon were the parts of zosma since the mayhem legion is basically the chaos legion and theyre two parts of one whole and they say theyre chasing after some sort of chaos after punika story

Hey man, I love these Lore videos gotta keep em coming. I have to say though, the english voices just hurt my soul man. I personally play with korean voices, because it just feels way better and more genuine even though I don't understand anything (lol). Especially with the songs in the game (Yorn/Romantic weapon and Punika/festival)

only thing ill say is how could Thaemine and Chadan be part of kazaros when thaemine already existed before kazaros was killed and split apart and Chadan already existed during the chainwar as well. So that theory is probably off. If I had to guess Chadan is either some sort of reincarnation/child or an actual old god of arkesia possibly even one of the ones regulus punished ( AKA he's Procyon or some sort of reincarnation/child of Procyon hence why he's even in elgasia in the first place looking over his creations and in general still has a distrust for them after them tricking him ) Im sure the haal will play a role later on while I don't think Kharmine is secretly a Haal he might be a descendant of one who bred with a demon ( hence he takes a strong liking to armen who is also a half breed ) which would explain his warping powers that even the legion generals seem to not possess and rely on him for and also explains his general distaste for arkesia and Regulus for the persecution of his people ( because I'm sure there is more to the story like you said than the "Haal were evil and did bad things" ). I think the likelihood of some of the original gods of arkesia that lupeon created being involved in some bigger background plots is high. Those 7 gods Lupeon created have a bigger stake in their creations surviving than Lupeon does since he doesn't seem to actually give a fuck.
You're mixing up characters. The 'chaos' god, Igharam, was betrayed by Kazaros. As part 1 said, after the betrayal and defeat of Igharam, the escaped soul split into 2 parts that were scattered, hence Saints theory on those 2 parts being Thaemine and Kadan.

What just came to my mind:
The world made by the god of Order - Regulus - is all in chaos due to different machinations happening in the background on top of humankinds greed, while the world of chaos, created be that respective god - Zosma - has come to complete order, under Kazeros. Like what the F*CK is going on. Living the twisted world all over again. Are we actually the bad guys? I'm getting real bad AION vibes from this (Elyos vs. Asmodians story, for those who have dived into that).
So, I am confused.. what happened to gallators ark fragment? Does the sword not consume it in the dungeon?
I believe Galatur's Ark is the one you find in Arthetine. You get sent there to find Sien's, but that's in Feiton.

yeah, i thought ealyn did care but the council blocked her, so she asks the hero to do things quietly through the adventurer's guild. overall great job though, it's hard to remember every single detail when there's so much story to go through

He goes over this. The theory is Kadan and Thaemine are the 2 souls.
Kakul-sadon are theorized to be part of the 'original gods' of Petrania from the beginning and so they were born in 'chaos'.
As mentioned in part 1 it's possible that 'some' of Old Gods of chaos that betrayed Igharam along side Kazeros --- Either regretted that choice cause they thrived on chaos [or] some were never apart of the betrayal and want to undo the 'order' that Kazeros created.

Because we just out of nowhere go fight against him, with no explanation why. Or even why is Albion fighting him.
Majority of players don't even know it's kinda a redo, since it happened similarly before, when Argos got corrupted and turned against his allies and Albion had to stop him.
What happened to Ezrebet? Did AGS had tinker her? seems like KR has better version of Ezrebet KEKW
