Hands down the best looking figure I’ve seen from hasbro. Only takeaway is the matrix chamber, don’t like the inside being red. Now imagine a SS86 Megatron with this quality!
I pre-ordered OP as soon as it hit Amazon. I was out of buying Transformers for awhile. This brought me back. Also got SS86 Bumblebee. Now I'm playing catch-up. Just got SS86 Jazz, Ironhide, Kup. Gotta get the rest. Magnus, Grimlock & Hot Rod are the ones I wanna get but they became stupid expensive...
TBF G1 cartoon Optimus did have a chonky torso and a backpack, so in terms of width at least SS86 Prime is much more faithful in that regard while ER's is way too thin.
@SwedishGundam. Needs and improvements are two different things. This figure is perfect, it doesnt “need” any fixing. It’s an “improvement” to get the back of the cab filled in. An upgrade kit for this is completely unneeded.
Hasbro said that they would have it widespread in stores. I would suggest ordering it online because Hasbro Pulse is supposed to do refreshes throughout the year but maybe you can find it in person.
Fir me it's more about if the backpack is clean rather than it's size. In this case it's acceptable bc it's geometrically synergistic with the body of the figure.

My only critique about this, and I can totally get over it - is that 1. The chest windshields are flat to accomodate vehicle mode and dont angle in robot mode 2. The matrix chamber is unpainted red plastic and seems unfinished. Again, I'm already over those points and am super excited for this release, and there's still a possibility they can address point 2 for the production release
I know that this figure is going for cartoon accuracy but I honestly would have liked if Prime’s wheels were visible in robot mode instead of concealed, but it’s not a big deal.
seeing what they did with this and likely with Megatron once that comes I'm mighty sad with the coronation Starscream cause that is universally accepted as chair and garbage repack
@ixadorcraine6736 I know!!! Hasbro had better revisit star scream with a new mold later. My guess is they're probably gonna introduce the new seeker mold with 86 thundercracker or skywarp, and then give us a proper starscream, either that or maybe give us either an 86 thundercracker or skywarp, and pack the other in a two pack with srarscream. Either that, or they're gonna give us a new mold with the studio series gamer edition devastation version of the seekers

Then the shattered glass, the Neon Genesis recolor, Generation 2 repaint with the black trailer, the golden lagoon version, Ultra magnus white repaint, etc.

Motormaster is certainly getting the G2 deco to go with the other Stunticons. There's leaked listing for Nemesis Armada Prime. And this is G1 Optimus Prime we're talking about. Guaranteed to get redecoed into the ground
The truck mode looks weird but I don't know why. Looks like a bit of a downgrade from MP10 and Earthrise. It kinda goes for the MP44 look what I am not a fan off

Also I feel like previous commanders were much better value (except for kingdom rodimus). Jetfire and SS86 Magnus are both huge and are sturdy. Jetfire was also 80 dollars as it was before the price raise. Motormaster has a huge chunk of dense, functional plastic in his trailer and magmatron is three figures in one

Backpack on the robot mode hurts me a bit, considering how good Earthrise was, but overall this looks great.
Better than earthrise yes mp44 not sure the proportions of the robot mode are still better there

This really does not feel like Studio Series at all. And also feels like Masterpiece. Its looks Amazing none the less. Im 100% getting this Figure.
