My son wanted a “cat to pet while I’m reading.” I was kinda surprised he wanted a grown cat. So he chose a two-year-old pure black cat with Halloween eyes….much like this one here….from the shelter. He named him Lestat. 😂🖤

I have a black cat. He is amazing, he picked me at a cat shelter here in Scotland. He is so sweet and loving, a gentle soul. Cats are amazing....❤ thank you for sharing your trip. I want to go to Italy, such a beautiful place.
I'm allergic to cats, but have two. Some bother me more than others. Just depends on the cat's dander/oils I guess. Also, as far as Count not being interested in the water, could be that Count prefers running water. One of our cats ONLY drinks from her water fountain, faucets, or if I'm actively pouring water into a dish. She refused to drink when we first got her, except when she'd rush into bathroom and frantically lap at bathtub. We went out and immediately bought a cat fountain and she's been spoiled with it ever since. Some cats are just like that I guess. I did end up Googling it at some point and I think it's actually good for them to drink running water but I can't remember the benefits 😅 But, Count could also be drinking from another source 🤷♀️ lol

And to have him find you during Halloween time too, that's a great sign! Hope you and Count have a lovely vacation together. And the allergies only really happen if they have a lot of dander, usually smell from litter boxes. There's cat body wipes to help reduce allergy symptoms from petting, usually at pet stores, shouldn't be too expensive. Hope that helps a bit.

Depends on the cat on how they want to be scratched or pet. Just read their body language. They do bite if they get over stimulated or don’t like something. He’s very sweet. Thank you for caring for him.

Black cats are the best! I adopted my sweet girl Cia from a vet. She was like my daughter, we were so close. She followed me everywhere, We played fetch and her favorite spot to lay was on my stomach, since the first day I brought her home. Sadly I lost my girl to bone cancer. She will always hold a special place in my heart and I hope someday to adopted another black kitty
If l do say so myself.. as an owner of two black sibling cats. People that adopt them have good hearts knowing that they're the least adoptable colored cat. So sorry to hear about your daughter.
