Ben Rice is a contact hitter with power. Yankee need such player to protect Judge and score runs, just like Verdugo behind that will work.
Stop putting Torres behind Judge, his swing has hole and too much on his head right now.

I've heard Spencer Jones' OPS is up to .860 ( starting to hit ). But with Rice, JD Davis and LeMathieu with the outside possibility of Andrew Vaughn, Spencer Jones will remain at AA
I think Jones likely makes it to AA before seasons end.

We need an upgrade not someone w Rizzos stats or worse. When u say batting .236 w less than 10 hrs (on a bad team) it's not an upgrade & certainly won't help us. For that let's go out & get Vlad jr. He's still under control for another year & he's conceded to playing for the Yankees. And he & Soto are good friends. Perfect combination

Ben Rice has been hiting balls hard. If you look at games, a few foul ball home runs. His stats in baseballsavant is so red, why sending out bunch of talent and enthusiatic hot bat young kid for a cold blue player.

Spencer Jones move to 1B and we will we set for many years to come. 3B Matt Chapman is a free agent after this year. GM and Hal would need to get busy as soon as the World Series is over. Now if we get Vlad jr, that’s an upgrade at 1B. Can Rice be moved to catcher ? That’s one option.

With half the league making the playoffs it’s harder to deal. Vaughn is much better than his current numbers. He’s not going to cost a blue chip prospect. I like it. Vlad is going to cost a chip. But he’s probably worth it. I would want him to get a personal trainer though or lay off the Tim Hortons.

You can spin yourself around like a top, the Yankees will continue to make the same mistakes over and over. If Stephen Drew were still around, Cashman would go after him. . Same with Rougie Odor. Unless your a can't miss player, forget it. You'll never get a full shot. Rice has only had about 20 PA so far and hasn't crapped the bed. His defense has been better than I expected and just about every at bat has been competitive. Boone is clueless and Cashman is worse. His multi player trades have been disasters. He's made some good pickups like Tauchman, Voit, Trevino and Holmes, but he lacks creativity and guts. He trades with his best buddy Beane which is easy, but still gets fleeced. Still may get burned with the Rizzo trade because Kevin Alcantara has the skills to be very good and he's still only 21 and will be 22 in July. It's not carved in stone, but the Rice situation has me fed up with this team if it plays out like it's looking.
Why would you all try promoting a guy when we have Rice that looks like he could be the real deal? What about homegrown youth movement for God sakes🤦♂️

dj La ground out was almost a guarantee. his launch angle is negative. He's a DP machine and so is Trevino. You expect Trevino's ops to stay above 700. it will sink and sink and sink like it always has. got to wake up and see what's happening. not the whole picture for the whole year.
