  • Worked a bit more on the pond area, adding some details and a few additional scenery items. Also reinstalled the bridge and have the track connected, painted, and ready for ballast.
    This will be (promise...) the last video of the pond area specifically. We need to move on to other tasks!
    We also see some trains running over the bridge.

    You may not realize it, but you've accomplished a level of realism here that is just as good as those German books a few vids back. It just looks like rural Pennsyltucky instead of alpine Austria or Germany.

    Looks very good, or in your speak OK. Impressive to see a train roll by, with the birds chirping and the owl hooting.
    Keep up the inspirational work.

    Nice Job!!! I have a small observation just above the rock face on the left side of the bridge. The trees don't look right growing out of the rocks. Maybe you can build up soil there and then put bushes in. You are doing great and I am learning a lot from you.

  • @bobgeorgiou472
    @bobgeorgiou472 Před 8 lety

    I was shocked to see all that fine detail getting lost in the bridge shadow. Up close, probably not the issue I see. I don't know what's above that area in your home but a directional light might be in order. (I can't come up with a prototype reason for lights only there on the backside of the bridge... maybe some HO flood lights to prevent graffiti, ha ha?!?)

  • @WarrenFahyAuthor
    @WarrenFahyAuthor Před 6 lety

    I'm a fan of models and model railroading and have looked around at a lot of the same. Your modeling is more akin to the dioramas in the American Museum of Natural History than even the best modeling out there, including places like Miniature Wunderland. So, no, in response to your comment in the video, I don't mind seeing how long to take on a single scene. At all. :)

    I would recommend that you use a black paint for the fascia, it makes the eye to concentrate on the layout, scenery, trains, buildings, etc., I did my layout fascia board and looks terrific

  • @WarrenFahyAuthor
    @WarrenFahyAuthor Před 7 lety

    WELL-DONE! (Just smooth out that corner...) It's doable with a curving molding. Worth it, I think. (Says the novelist who spies on your layout. Ha! Sorry... :) He's objectively the best.) -Warren Fahy (The guy who cares about the details.) I love what you do. It's exquisite stuff, Mr. Bennett. Thanks for doing it, man. We love it!

    @holimanrobert Před 8 lety

    your pond area looks great! I do have to say though that with the camera down at that angle in the last minutes or two of the video, the scenery looks like an angry snapping turtle! LOL! maybe it's just my over active imagination though.

    @boobunn4151 Před 7 lety

    this pond looks truly beautiful and very realistic. so much relaxed and unobtrusive detail and narrative. the mud effects are the best touch. it would have been easy to overdo that culvert but the dry and muddy treatment is much more naturalistic.
    this is a glorious little back end of nowhere. totally subscribing and praying that a prostitutes body never turns up floating in this gloriously modeled pond..
