Overview: Today we will be venturing inside a step back in history. We will research and hopefully get in contact with some of the past spirits of “Mid Orange Correctional Facility. What we end up finding is truly disturbing and shocking. This jail is full of hand painted paintings by Inmates. Oh my, If only the walls could talk the story’s they would tell. Join us as we discover what remains in these beautiful historic grounds…
In our next exploration here we will visit the power plant + remaining buildings and do a paranormal research in these historical buildings too! Stay tuned for how we get in the power plant! We all hope you enjoy these videos!
History: Mid-Orange, a medium-security prison housing 750 adult males, occupies 740 rolling country acres in the foothills of the picturesque Ramapo Mountains in southern Orange County, about 60 miles northwest of New York City. The property includes frontage on Wickham Lake, where employees often picnic. Laid out among bucolic wetland tracts and woods are more than 60 buildings. To understand the trade, we have to go back to 1825. That year, a group of private citizens established a House of Refuge in New York City. It was created specifically to provide a place of detention for juveniles, who until then were housed along-side adult criminals.
