In this clip, Tom Mesereau opened up about representing Suge Knight in his 2015 case and later withdrawing after having a difference of opinions with people on his team. Tom explained that he only had positive interactions with Suge, and he believes that Suge was harshly sentenced because of his persona. Tom also stated that it was clear that Suge was defending himself in the videos that he saw, which you can hear more about above.

The thing is that if Suge went to trial he most likely was going to lose. His past two felony convictions were most likely going to be brought up. Sadly your appearance can sway a jury. The fact that he's a "big" black man with a a shaved head and beard can be very intimidating especially to a jury. That's why especially women change their appearance in the courtroom like no makeup, conservative clothing, eye glasses, etc to make them look more sympathetic to the jury. For Suge it would be very difficult to make him change his "appearance".
Not just that, the DA & the prosecution were paid off by the other side, involved in witness tampering & the Judge was crooked also, Suge knew he wasnt going to get a fair trial
