  • How to Make Baby Formula On The Go 🍼🎒 | First Time Mum UK
    Hi guys,
    I just wanted to share how I make formula for my baby when we are out and about. We use the Cow & Gate milk ready made milk and/or the powder with a mix of boiling water and cooled boiled water. We Tommee Tippee Anti-Colic bottles for him as he did used to get a build up of gas when he was younger and found they really helped. The second method can be used on the go, at home straight from a kettle and cooled water at home or through the night for instant milk at the perfect temperature. This is just what works really well for us so I wanted to share.

    Its a good idea for when travelling. Thank you. Never used powder, as this method is very complicated for us.

    Hi..im a new mom..once i opened ready to drink milk ..and balance put into refrigerator..then how to feed the cold milk to baby..please reply

      Hi, once you pour the ready made formula into a bottle and your baby drinks from it, you cannot store it anymore. However if you child has not drank from it yet or if you have anything remaining in the ready made bottle that you did not pour out, you can store that in the fridge for up to 24hrs.
      To warm it up you can use a bottle warmer or you can simply put freshly boiled water into a jug and place the bottle in until it warms up to a safe temperature for baby to drink. Always check the temperature on your inner wrist before offering it to baby. I show this in another video czcams.com/video/zIEH9f4gfqQ/video.htmlsi=ybUxnfhCm8o_BcZo

    Great video, thanks for making a video for all the questions us first time mums have. How long does that flask stay above 70degrees? or do you refill it with hot water in the day to make sure it stays above 70 degrees xx

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi, sorry for the late reply. I find the flask stays hot for about 4hrs as long as it isn't opened in that time. If you want a better performing flask, you can go for a thermos flask or even the tommee tippee one that is designed for making milk on the go.

    What is that stem inside bottles nd why do we need it

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 11 měsíci

      It’s to help with colic cuz it releases the air bubbles in the milk as baby is drinking so babies don’t take it the air bubbles and then suffer with gas (colic)

  • @brownielou82
    @brownielou82 Před 2 lety +2

    But the water must be at 70 degrees Celsius to kill the bacteria and maintain the properties cause if it’s boiling water it will strip off the nutrients in the powder formula. What was the temperature of the water in the flask? And also do flasks maintain the water temperate steady?

    • @brownielou82
      @brownielou82 Před 2 lety +1

      Otherwise this method is great when preparing baby formula instantly at home so you do not have to wait 30 minutes for the boiling water to reach 70 degrees in order to prepare the baby bottle! Thanks!

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 2 lety

      Yes you’re right, the water should be around 70 degrees. I always feed my baby before we leave the house and then when he’s ready for another feed (usually about 3 hours later) the flask in the water cools down enough to make his next bottle. The water in the flask can be used for up to 4 hours before it starts to get too cold. So I will usually get it refilled at a cafe/restaurant.
      When at home you kind of have to judge when baby will be ready for a feed and put the kettle on half an hour before. But once that water has cooled at least you can mix it with the cold water to make the right temperature. It’s still quicker than putting the bottle in cold water/running it under the tap.

    formula can only last 2 hr with no use then u have to trash it but if u give it ahead 30 mins and then whats left its trash ...

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před rokem

      Yes, untouched formula lasts 2hrs. Formula that’s been drunk from must be thrown within the hour

    How much measurements are you putting in? Also can you not boil the water and put in a flask then in the fridge? Thanks

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 2 měsíci

      The measurements differ depending on how many oz you’re making but for a 3oz bottle I do 1oz hot and 3oz cooled. My boys have their milk at room temp usually they don’t mind it a little cold or a little hot either so I’m very lucky.
      Keeping a flask of hot water in the fridge does not allow the water to cool so I’d recommend using something else. Once cooled you can always fill a flask up with it. Then maybe carry 2 flasks round, one with hot water and one with cooled water.

    Can you just use baby water?

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před rokem +1

      Sorry, I’m not sure what baby water is? The water itself should be 70 degrees to kill the bacteria in the formula and then once mixed can be cooled by mixing with cooler water or using cold water to cool it. However when on holiday o did just use water straight from a bottle to make his feeds and he was absolutely fine
