- Here I am walking around in Cádiz, Spain (Andalucia) on a warm summer day in July 2022. Cádiz is a city and port in southwestern Spain. It is the capital of the Province of Cádiz, one of eight that make up the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Western Europe, with archaeological remains dating to the 12th century BC. The city of Cadiz is also an amazing place to explore on foot. Situated at the end of a peninsula, it is surprisingly compact and easy to navigate, even for the most timid of visitors. Its cathedral, its ancient walls, its old fortifications, and its narrow streets all work to invite the visitor into the city's heart and engulf them in the soul of the place. As you walk through its narrow alleys, it almost feels as though centuries of history are wandering along with you, silent witnesses to the the many events that comprise the past. The old city center of Cadiz looks quite Moorish in appearance and is intriguing with narrow cobbled streets opening onto small squares. The golden cupola of the cathedral looms high above long white houses and the whole place has a slightly dilapidated air. It just takes an hour to walk around the headlands where you can visit the entire old town and pass through some lovely parks with sweeping views of the bay.

Not impressed with this port town period the restaurants are very low quality of food and service there is nothing special about the square to date in my time of going to Spain for the last 40 years this must be the worse part of Spain that I have ever been to
