I feel like the Yoke steering doesn't really have any flaws itself. The issue is that because most cars have circular wheels, you have the muscle memory to hand-over-hand steer your car, and you only do this because steering wheels require you to turn it entirely twice to turn the car 90 degrees. How to solve this problem: Just.. make the yoke steering wheel more sensitive.

I got the Tesla with the yolk that way I can tell my passengers to reach over and feel my steering wheel and right after they touch it I scream at them "Hey!, Don't stroke my yolk pesant!" 😎

They did not really switch back on new orders. They simply make one or the other optional. Also, a majority of Model S and X owners actually prefer the yoke. So you can hardly call it a huge mistake. It will be really interesting to see how many buyers will get the regular steering wheel in the future. I guess it will be a minority.

They didn't make a mistake and they aren't scrambling to fix it. The yoke steering wheel was and is an option. My wife's Tesla has the yoke because thats what she ordered and it make an awesome steering wheel. True some people can't seem to get the hang of it and ask for it to be replaced but it but once you get used to it, its a great option.

The yoke is also supposed to be used with steering sensitivity set very high, it’s not supposed to feel like a normal steering wheel but people are comfortable with that already so they turn it down, and then it feels weird when they have to turn the thing 360°. It’s designed for 90° turns only. And very subtle movements. Ideally using autopilot to maintain lane, and if you choose. Steer on your own with minimal effort. So operator error. Edit: however give us an option when purchasing maybe?? It’s not like it’s an expensive luxury car or anything😂
