No one has ever achieved net energy surplus from a fusion reaction. The results reported a few months ago did not account for the massive amount of energy that was required to power the lasers that produced the reaction. What they did achieve was “ignition.”
I have no money but you do make me laugh and are very interesting. And you make me laugh.
8:42 ..such a nice statement and that on Norway's Constitution Day (!)
3 cheers for 🇳🇴
Off-topic, Scott, but I was wondering if you'll be sharing your thoughts on the Josh Hawley book, assuming that you may have a few to offer.
Well presented. Thank you.
My personal bet on N. Fusion is around 2035. Will see 😄
I'm definitely pro-nuclear energy but I'm skeptical about fusion being economically viable. I hope to see it but I think we should remember that fusion is rare even on the sun, most of its hydrogen will hang around for billions of years before it eventually burns
Plenty of low cost fusion electricity being generated already aka Solar
this will not work, not in 28. no idea why they do this. fomo probably or tax reasons, maybe patents...
I really wish Scott would disclose his equity positions in the companies he discusses, advocates for! It's disingenuous and deceptive. He should be above reproach. Be honest with your viewers!
agreed, it wouldn't hurt him, I guess he's just lazy 😂
Go back to (science) school guys... We'll end up with another Theranos scandal, with false promises, beautiful PR stints and ruined investors
