Fix Samsung Washing Machine Error 4E problem with Water Inlet and Sensor Water Level

The 4E (4C) error indicates that the washing machine has detected a problem with the water supply.
A few solution Samsung Error 4E
Check 1 - Water flow too small
System will show error 4E, for safety and washing machine will stop and give warning 4E
Usually, after 10-15 minutes, because water supply very slow into washing machine tube. Error will show 4E.
Make sure the water inlet enough in 10-15 minutes. Or you can try, like filling the water into the tube washing machine manual.
Check 2 - the water flow is slightly clogged
Check to see if the water hose mesh filter is not block.
After 10-15 minutes, system washing machine will show error 4E and Samsung washing machine will stop working
You should clean the water hose from mesh around the filter at least twice a year to prevent build up.
Before you check no 3.
• Samsung Washing Machin...
Make sure you check connector caable water level sensor.
Plug and unplug again. And try turn on the washing machine.
Make sure pipe from tube to water level sensor not blok.
Such as dirt or detergent marks that clot
Check 3 - Problem with water level sensor unit.
This rare , and we get this problem.
Usually problem from pipe level sensor.
Leaking pipe level water sensor, bent pipe, clogged pipe or the pipe is broken.
Drum or tube washing machine will spin, and make vibration.
Sometime, the pipe connect tube and water level sensor pulled out until bent, or friction and leaking occur.
Bent will be block water pressure to sensor, and cannot detect water level in tube, the same.leak (maybe bitten by a mouse) or loose water sensor pipe make sensor wrong detect water level in tube. Even though the water in tube already full
Water level sensor not work properly. And send wrong signal to board, "no water inside tube" .
After 10-15 minutes. Even water overflow or full
Automatic system board will show Error 4E. And Washing Machine will stop
Make sure the water level sensor installed properly

You must check small pipe connect from water level sensor, to tube mounting too. If the pipe released, plug back again, and must restart your washing machine

Thank you! For anyone else with the same model as me, the WA45H700AW/A2, this was the solution that worked for me. I first tried the suggested water screen cleaning, but saw this video, popped open the back, and sure enough the tube was off the spout. There was also some lubricant on the tube that may have helped it slip off, so I dried off any excess lubricant and plugged the tube back in and tightened the metal lock.
mine too ... this should be seen first IF you machine was unleveled and maybe jumping around

Turns out my machine is fine... frozen pipe due to winter storm, I know it sounds silly but I live in central TX and this is the first time it’s been single digit temperatures ( 23 high/ 4 low) in the 20+ yrs I’ve lived here ( the laundry and front yard faucets where the only ones that froze)

Hi there: Thanks for the informative video. I had the dreaded 4E error code of death. All the supply hose screens were clear, removable ones and inner ones. Taps wide open. Lots of pressure and flow out of the hoses. Still no luck. So I inspected the hose that leads from the bottom of the drum up to the pressure sensor. I found some chaffing part way up where the rib on the drum was rubbing on the hose and found a small hole in the worn area. I repaired this by cutting out the damaged area and replacing with a small piece of metal brake line. It would be best to replace the whole rubber hose with new but I don't have any hose in my shop that will work. Hope this helps some of you. Cheers

That's great video. It helped my problem. The issue is the water inlet valve sensor came up, so after detecting low water pressor the 4E appears. I just tighten and screw down (with spring) the sensor for my washer and it worked like a charm. Thank you

I am having water not filling up enough. Have replaced the green inlet valve twice. This time I am still unsure.
The sensor I'd try turning it all the down to the spring; I turned it up; I can only make 3 turns.
I cleaned the drain valve, inlet filter, inlet hose. It hasn't worked.

Also try taking the back silver cover off the back and making sure the tiny hose from the sensor is connected. Mine slipped off i guess. Been going to the laundry matt for a month for no reason lol
This was my same problem. I actually laid my washer down on it's front and could see little hose was off. If your issue is not a water flow problem and see water slowly pooling on the floor when the washer is trying to get going I'd check that. It's a small tube (pinky sized maybe) connected to a little spout on the back of the drum sort of close to middle, pretty easy to spot.

Thanks for the post, my Samsung WA45H7000A was showing 4E and spilling water. When I investigated the sensor tube, as you suggested, it was not kinked; I followed the tube to its connection to the tub and found that it was disconnected. The tub would fill to sensor level connection and then invoke the 4E code while allowing the water to spill out the connection. My guess is that an off-balance load shifted the tub so wildly that the level sensor tube popped off; there was only a wire tie holding it above the connection, the tube had a spring clamp to hold it to the tub connection.

Thanks Pberguy! Following your approach I had the exact same problem.
Another reason for the 4E error which was in my case. I moved the machine to a new location and plumbed the drain hose down low like you would with a dishwasher. Not thinking about it, the water would drain out of the machine as it was filling. As you could imagine this took a long time to fill (while draining at the same time) and through the 4E fault.

Thanks for this. I also had a similar problem but the solution is a little bit different. The cause of the error was the tube connected to the sensor was detached on the other end, the end that connects the tube to the plastic housing of the drum. I did go through your suggested fix but none seem to work. I also noticed that water was leaking somewhere from the bottom of the machine. When I opened the cover at the back of the washing machine I saw the tube was detach which most like caused the water leak. It might have come loose because of the vibration from the drum. Anyway, I hope this additional info helps.

Just resolved the same issue with my Washing machine
Had the same problem with my machine, but the issue with me was the tube was detached from the drum side not from the Pressure switch.
thanks for your input Leslie, I opened the back of my washing machine and found the plastic tube was disconnected and you're right possibly because of vibration it tend to loose. - No my washing machine works perfectly and I saved my money from calling a service call.
Please my Samsung washing machine has 4e error code but still fill when using quick wash program but not other washing program. The error code is displayed when using any other washing program apart from quick wash. I have checked the inlet hose filter and water pressure, both appear okay. Could the problem be the inlet valve or motherboard issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the level sensor has a problem, the connector is loose, the small pipe is clogged

Before open panel, unplug the power

Unplug power before inspection.
If your inlet give water, the same time, valve drain still open and water still out from outlet.
May be this can help
Check the drainage valve below tube washing machine. Maybe something is stuck, does not close perfectly
if water enters, and simultaneously comes out.
The sensor does not detect the water has reached the specified level
And the system automatically stops, next will show displays 4E (if inlet valve still work over than 10-15 minutes)
You can try, using a minimum water level.
To ensure the sensor works properly
Check your small pipe connection. Like this video, small pipe connect bottom tube washing machine to water level sensor.
May be unplug / detached, you must plugin again.
Check pipe not bent
Check pin connector water level sensor, release and plug again. may be corrosive, and pin connector not contact
Bad news, may be problem with sensor water level
Usually the problem is there
I have not found another solution. Lastly a problem on the washing machine board (rare case). You should contact unit a technician

The sensor, link / connected to a small pipe, detects changes in air pressure. When the pipe becomes blocked, the pressure reading at the sensor is affected

Only test single inlet washing machine.
4E mean Door Error, usually contact copper problem. Like weak spring, or cable.

Before you check below, unplug the POWER
DE Error, related switch pin safe door.
Pin connector weak, the connector pins and cables not connect because due to engine vibration, wire cable diconnected may be mouse bit the cable.
Not stopping water in dram.

Include pipe from drum to level water switch control.
May be bent, leak, or loose
If still problem, call technical.
In my case it was that the drainage hose had fallen down below the drum water level resulting in the drum never filling to the required level. Once the drain hose was lifted above the drum level - no more error! Happy days!

I tried to check the spin in diagnostic mode after pressing the power, spin and washing mode button together for like 6 seconds. It takes water alright, the agitator moves alright but when it gets to the spin it shows error code 3E.
Meanwhile is there a way to check the speed of the spin like I have seen in some videos where the speed gets up to 1000 rpm?

Halo mas. Mesin saya baru tuker pcb (copy ori). Masalahnya mesin udah gak auto detect berat cucian seperti sebelumnya.. Tiap kali nyuci, startnya mesti dari level air extra low. Itu kenapa ya mas?
Kami hanya sempat mencoba model standar kak. Yang tidak mengunakan sensor bobot pakaian.

How I solved the 4E error:
The symptoms were the error code appeared when the drum was filling. I followed the steps in this video but still no success.
I solved the problem by adjusting the screw you can see on the top of the sensor. I figured out that this screw depresses a spring which controls the water level / pressure. The tighter the screw, the tighter the spring, the more water the machine demands. If the spring is too tight, the inlet hose can’t supply as much water as the machine is demanding and you get the 4E (low flow) error code. With your machine unplugged, loosen the screw a quarter or half turn and the machine will demand less water and the 4E error should not occur. You may need to loosen another quarter or half turn until you find the correct adjustment through trial and error.
I’m guessing the issue occurs if the mains water pressure is slightly lower than the machine is calibrated for, so you have to recalibrate the sensor so that the machine demands less water / fills at a slightly slower rate.

Mas... Mesin cuci saya air inletnya hidup terus. Saya cek pakai multimeter dia terus2an dapat tegangan 220v. Fungsi mencuci normal. Kira2 apa yg rusak ya mas. Saya yakin bukan water level sensornya yg rusak. Soalnya bisa mencuci sesuai dengan level air. Tp ya itu air masuk terus. Jadi harus ditungguin kalo mencuci agar air tidak kepenuhan

Sampai ke bagian board, untuk memeriksa sambungan kabel
2. pipa air dari tabung dibawah ke sensor lepas (akibat getaran tabung), bocor (di gigit tikus), tersumbat (terlalu banyak diterjen)
, selang terjepit (bila pernah merubah posisi level sensor)

Tekanan air tidak cukup memberikan tekanan ke alat level sensor (biasanya berbentuk bulat)
Air dianggap kosong oleh sensor karena tidak ada tekanan, tidak ada koneksi, sehingga inlet aktif terus memasukan air ke tabung mesin cuci
Coba di periksa dulu 2 bagian itu kak.
3. level sensor rusak, jarang kejadian seperti ini. Hanya alternatif terakhir kalau mesinnya sudah lama digunakan
4. Board rusak, tapi jangan khawatir, sepertinya belum sampai disana.
Dicek dulu nomor 1 dan 2 kak, paling umum masalahnya disana
, baru memanggil teknisi.
Pastikan ketika memeriksa mesin cuci, kabel power selalu di lepas.

1. sudah saya cek skunnya normal gan, soalnya mencucinya normal, mau dia low mid high levelnya mesti jalan sesuai level air,
2. ini juga sudah saya cek gan, malah saya bersihkan dengan cara meniup selang biar tidak ada kotoran di dalam selangnya,
jadi kemungkinan mmg board kontrolernya yg rusak ya,
tadi malam saya cek lagi, dari awal tekan tombol power si valve langsung hidup, padahal blm tekan tombol start,
btw makasi banget udah bales gan
bisa dimatiin ga sih ini fiturnya, abis klo di kontrakan tuh di bagian ujung jadi klo rumah awal nyalain air, ke rumah sayanya kecil dan suka 4E gini jadi kebuang airnya
Sepertinya tidak bisa kak
Karena Timernya sudah di set melalui EPROM mesin.
