I just bought this gimbal. Unfortunately it does not work with DJI Osmo Action except to use the gimbal as a stabiliser. You cannot pair the gimbal with DJI Osmo Action and therefore cannot use it for motion hyperlapse. It only works remotely with GoPro. Most videos on CZcams demonstrate the gimbal with GoPro and very few with Osmo Action. Disappointed that it cannot be paired with Osmo Action

There is an outlet to charge the camera on one of the gimbal arms you don't have to run a cable from the handle also I believe you can plug in the charge cable with the camera in the normal position there is room if you look
On the go pro 9, you can set Quik Connect to ON which will let you use the shutter button to switch on the camera. This will work when the camera is upside down, so you can be connected to the gimbal power cable and power on and off at the same time.
Brilliant tutorial! My only complaint about this product is the lights that show what mode you're in are much too dim and they are impossible to see outside.

You mention not being able to access the power button when mounted upside down. But according to the iSteady Pro 4 manual you can power on/off using the gimbal by holding the record button down for 3 seconds. Is that not correct? From the manual: Power On/Off (Long press for 3 seconds) Single Tap: Take photo, Start/End video Double Tap: Switch between the Photo Mode and the Video Mode (Make sure GoPro camera is connected with the gimbal)

Great great video. I ended up purchasing the gimbal and it worked Great for a couple days. Now when I connect it and it powers on the GoPro the screen turns black as soon as it is paired. I can’t do anything on the GoPro screen while it’s in that mode and when I remove it from the gimbal I have to reset the GoPro or remove the battery in order to reestablish its normal settings. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I bought the gimble for the GoPro 11, great tutorial! I have some questions: with the gimble do you keep the auto booster on? Using the gimble with night settings, I turned off the stabilization, but when walking, the video was too blurry.

Are you able to switch to TimeLapse mode on your GoPro 9 from the gimbal? On my side it does not work neither with the first iSteady Pro 4 I received nor the second one I got as replacement. All other functions are ok with the gimbal but not switching to TimeLapse which is not a bonebreaker issue in the end but nevertheless quite annoying…

@@paulgood29 Indeed disappointing whereas in general I like that gimbal. But obviously there is no full compatibility with the GoPro 9 as advertised. I also was in intensive contact with the Hohem suppport. They have been really kind and very supportive but they could not solve the problem.
@@jens_g359 I also called Hohem suppport when I first discovered the problem. I think we are caught in the middle. GoPro can't take responsibility and Hohem claims it isn't their problem. What I don't understand is how it worked for some people in the youtube videos I watched but not for us. It's a mystery :-)

Great tutorial. I do notice that the GoPro Hero 8 without battery installed on the stick (get power from to the stick) doesn't not respond to shutter command. I can easily change modes, but when I try to start video or take photo, the screen turns black. Any clue ?

I like your video but am extremely frustrated with my Pro 4 which arrived yesterday. Firstly the app you recommend to install to allow firmware updates seems totally different to the one you are demonstrating. Secondly, having connected my GoPro 9 to the Pro 4 I get the mode changing to work on the gimbal but I cannot get the REC button to drive the camera so, in other words, the gimbal controls work but I can't get the gimbal to control the GoPro.

If the GoPro is Off, is there a way to start it when starting the Gimbal without unmounting the camera? Since you no longer have access to the power button, and it would need to turn off the Gimbal, unmount the GoPro, press the GoPro’s power button, and then mount the camera back to the Gimbal, only then turning the Gimbal on…

i notice when power button is availible on side camera is less secure and can it fall from gimble because there is really nothing holding it except mouting clip ? but it feels like camera can slide out and fall ?

If the GoPro is Off, is there a way to start it when starting the Gimbal without unmounting the camera? Since you no longer have access to the power button, and it would need to turn off the Gimbal, unmount the GoPro, press the GoPro’s power button, and then mount the camera back to the Gimbal, only then turning the Gimbal on…
Can you shoot in portrait? Or mount in portrait ?

My gimbal is connected to the app but doesn’t have a section for firmware to allow an update. Spent ages looking up a solution but no further forward!

i notice when power button is availible on side camera is less secure and can it fall from gimble because there is really nothing holding it except mouting clip ? but it feels like camera can slide out and fall ?

So, the Hohem cord only charges the camera? The cord will not power a GoPro to displace that GoPro battery that gets so hot the camera shuts down?

When using a gimbal, does stabilization have to be turned on on the Gopro as well?

Excellent video, I have one issue relating to gopro 7 control. Once paired I can change gopro modes and the hohem power button takes pictures but doesn't start video recording, can you help??
