- Singapore Airlines Accident News: In a rare incident, a passenger has been killed and 30 others suffered injuries due to severe turbulence on a flight from London to Singapore. The death has been confirmed by Singapore Airlines.
In a statement, Singapore Airlines said flight number SQ321, which took off from Heathrow Airport in London on Monday and was headed to Singapore, "encountered severe turbulence" en route. The aircraft was diverted to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where it landed at 3.45 pm (local time) on Tuesday.

As a crew member this is why we tell passengers to keep their seatbelts fasten at “all times” because turbulence can happen unexpectedly! For those people who are trying to blame this on the airlines, just stop! It’s sad that a person died however it’s not the airlines fault! Passengers must obey all lighted signs and crew members instructions.
Exactly.. seat belts keep you in your seat..always keep mine buckled when flying
you are so right .
True agree. Most of the time we feel Hero in not putting seat belt as it's recommended.
I saw the pic of the passenger who died. He was on the ground near the labatory. The only reason is that he was not in his seat buckled up when he was supposed to be.
Passengers should listen to staff
Do you want to be taught English? It’s not ‘killed’…it’s ’dead’.
and spelling. "onboard" not "onboaard".
"Killed" could be correct if describing something that caused the death.
And Its not a "scare", its a mishap
In CZcams-friendly speak it's 'unalived'...
It is "Inglish" not English. So it is ok.
Not wearing seat belts in long haul flights is one of the reason for turbulence accident. You never know when a flight hit an air pockets or bad weather
Maybe the Aircraft was on a cruise and this Turbulence happened suddenly. So, its not due to passengers/crew carelessness. It might be a weather problem. Let's wait till the investigation is completed.
@@anbarasanmuthu7995 you are supposed to keep your seatbelt fastened when you are in your seat, even loosely, it will prevent you leaving your seat and hitting the roof! Cruise or not!
@@ALFOONUS when Aircraft reached the cruising limit, announcement suggest the passengers to "you can unfasten your seat belt" and that same time, crew stated to offer the snacks/water.
What i feel is this could be an unfortunate event. Because not 1 or 2 passengers, but around 25 passengers got injured including a fatal.
It does not feel right to blame the passengers. I would suggest waiting for the investigation to be completed.
There could be multiple technical reasons behind this incident. And this flight is from London to Singapore which is more than a 10 hour journey!!!!
And nobody would want to sit for 10 hours unless they are sleeping.
Passengers asked to fasten their seatbelt during TAKEOFF, LANDING, TURBULENCE. I don't think all 24 passengers were rejecting the captain's announcement. Even if it is, crew members used to check every time when there is an announcement for fastening the seatbelt.
So, it's better not to put the blame on the passengers or on the crew for now. Let's be patient until the investigating team comes out with the reason.
Admire the engineering and manufacturing of that aircraft. Even in such severe turbulence it did not break apart its wings did not shear off..
It's a Boeing plane, which is under heavy scrutiny for not building aircraft as per the safety guidelines....
exactly @@aniruthanrt1978
Yes boeing is very bad, their whistleblowers end up killed
You'v been watching to many American movies... !!
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred with Singapore Airlines. A few years ago, on October 18, 2014, around 22 passengers were severely injured due to turbulence on the Singapore-Mumbai route just a few minutes before landing in Mumbai, where the weather is usually pleasant. There seems to be an issue with the large jumbo aircraft being used. I hope the airline investigates this matter thoroughly.
Loss of 6000 feet in under 3 mins is unheard of. They need to simulate this to verify whether any mechanical issues could have occurred😮
200ft per minute is not unheard of, its not normal flight, but it's not unheard of.
@@ALFOONUS2000 per minute, not 200 😬
uk expat, 20 years Singapore, Indian Ocean always freaks me out
How do they manage to make this video have so bad quality and look like it came from 2008
Pilot didn’t monitor the weather radar? The weather radar shows which area not to fly? or was it just left in auto pilot?
imagine that happening , in meal service time....
Or in the lavatory... Or this person died of heart attack because of this shaky & scary situation..??
Who writes the copy for these news readers? Also the news reader should auto correct when he or she comes across wrong English. Killed? Give me a break
Loss of 6,000 feet (1800m) altitude in 175 seconds to be precise is gawking. Can't think of a natural jet stream causing this. They have to check for possible mechanical issues.😮
It is a Boeing aircraft, after all 🫣
Best Airlines or famous / branded airlines doesn't mean the safest airline. That's why, you don't need to go after the best / famous or branded airlines.
In colloquial language " Turbulence Kills one passenger " is not an incorrect phrase. The killer is the clear air turbulence.
Sorry to hear the airplane news. RIP.
Pray for speedy recovery so tragic rip 😭😭😭
Sadly, it happens sometimes.I flew as a Cabin Attendant for 37 years and experienced mild to severe turbulence frequently. A lot of times we would be in the middle of our meal service. If we received prior information about upcoming turbulence, our Captain would inform us and we would quickly roll back the meal/liquor carts, secure the galley and strap up in our seats. Often times there would be sudden turbulence and we would then quickly position the cart between pax. seats, put the breaks on and grab the first available seat in the cabin. I remember once sitting on a pax's lap with the pax holding me and me hanging on to the cart. Part of our job. So very sorry about what happened with SIA. 🙏
Thats why always follow the allowed handbag weight of 7kg. instead of arguing with the staff
?? what has that to do with this incident😐
@@charlottefx7163 the injuries, most injuries are caused by those heavy hand baggage falling down on passengers during heavy turbulence.
One killed by crew member or what .pl clarify
by turbulence
By bad potholes in air routes.
My condolence to the people impacted. This is why i always wear seatbelt when i am flying, except going to the toilet.
What is turbulence
That emergency landing is going to look a little strange on a globe I bet.
This could had been diverted to Kolkata
Dont think the word "killed" should be used the person died because of severe turbulence unfortunately he was suffering frm heart disease..prior to this ..he wasn't killled by anyone....
Wear your seatbelts all the time. You will be saved from these type of injuries. Simple.
Killed???
He was not killed maam fyi
NDTV should ttell the geographical area/country/location where Turbulence has occured...or take singapore airlines staff into Con-call for more info...
Had been killed after some time died.becareful of your english
Why use "has been killed"
Seat belt, seat belt , people. Especially long on haul flights, is common sightings to see passengers wondering around, standing n other shenanigans.
That's why you keep your seat belts on. And where's the videos? I'm sure there's a ton of them out there. How come they're not showing them yet? Are they going to try to blame Boeing for this, too?
stay away from planes
Don't be daft
Water can kill you too , stop drinking
Was the passenger wearing a seatbelt?
clearly not othewise they wouldn't have passed away. Its fundamental to wear seatbelts when told by the crew on that flyin spot i ve flown it enough times to know nothin bad happens to you if you follow the rules
@@ravenrey7225 they had a heart attack. Typical media, blaing the turbulence when in fact its likely a coincidence
Dead or killed ??
People die when they are Killed
One passenger is dead as he was killed by turbulence
killed? Who why
Safety first
Planes shouldn’t be bouncing about all over the place these days. Go higher or lot lower but not through storms
They never do....especially air India, now Singapore airlines. When flew with air Arabia, the pilots always avoided flying on in turbulence by lowering down the aircraft to concern and safety of passengers.
Why he is doint the reporting in the office? Usually it is reported on-site? prolly in Thai Airport or near the hospital. Weird set up... Sad news btw
Kill (ed) or die(dead) is more or less live end. Killed means by some one or by some thing. In this incident the person died due to unknown sources - some thing-
Not by an any individual. Thanks.

So sad
Why NDTV is saying 1 person killed
You guys are trouble in the way express the words . You guys are illiterate or what . you guys don’t have common sense. She is saying correctly but you guys big time drama.
I has not heard
Who killed the man? Are you sure you pass the English proficiency test?
Bad narration, even worse quality and usage of language..
i'm not surprised, Boeing is synonymous to Dying :D
I think it is ' died' correct than 'killed' . ' killed' is the murderous act committed by another person or an animal. Exemption ' killed the news'.... Anyway, very sad to hesr the news
People can be killed in car accidents, so why not aircraft? Also, I think you mean exceprion, not exemption.
Irritating music

Bruh how is this even possible, somebody please educate me. If a passenger died then how come cabin crew was safe?
It could have been a heart attack or any number of things.
Crew is trained
A lot of people thrown around in different directions. Perhaps one hit their shoulder, but another hit their head. You've heard of car accidents where not everyone was killed?
Please make sure Urdu subtitles for indian Urdu viewers.
Indians speak Hindi mostly.
We have more than 10 languages with scripts..so why Urdu?
Only one person ?
and 30 injured
@@sudiptoghosh3861 How serious the injury
Oh
One passenger died not has been killed. It’s an embarrassment to endure godi media news presentation.
Not true. Can you be killed if you get a head injury in a car accident? So it's possible on a plane. If it was a heart attack, died might be more appropriate language.
@@user-ov4wr5yu4r my dear IT cell, you guys are paid to add insult to injury. What a pity.

Seriously how bad is this new reader. At the beginning she literally repeated the same line twice back to back and yet she made the mistake by saying the flight was from flying Singapore to London. I mean this is very bad for such news channel to make such poor mistakes.
RIP to the deceased
First : Terrible English
Second: Its Boeing
Excellent English ! How is your Hindi?
What is she talking about? Can she speak with no accent?
It really makes me laugh when Indians speak English 😂😂😂
She even speak English decently..... Can you speak hindi, marathi, urdu language fluently????? 😂 the way you laughed on her... Same way I'm laughing on you guys😂
English is not our mother tongue
It’s normal for people of different nationalities to have a heavy accent when speaking a language that’s not their own mother tongue. Spoken English with a Japanese, Chinese, Malay, Indian, African, Middle Eastern or European accent is inevitable unless you are a trained linguist. So don’t laugh at them. 😅
And does it make you cry your heart out when your people speak the English language?
Wa Lau ehhh Singlish is too good Ma?
Who died? What was his nationality?
Briton male.
Died died scare or scare , her English wow sounds like wow
