Kevin was right to the point about his family vacationing to Florida. When the rest of the family arrives they all stayed at a cheap motel and the terrible rainy weather. Later Kate got a call from airport police and discovered that Kevin used Peter's credit card to check into the plaza hotel in New York City. The whole McCallister clan took the next flight out to NYC and became relived and happy again. As Kate mentioned: "they didn't like palm trees either"
That just further proves how neglectful and ignorant they are towards him. If they actually listened to him, maybe they’d have their heads screwed on right.
They only stayed at a motel cuz Kevin had all the money and credit cards, couldn't afford something else

Vacationing to Florida is the best for Spring Break getaway. Avoid traveling during Christmas Season, instead travel in Winter time. Flights cost less during that time.

Despite the laughs this movie gave us, it made us all shed some tears due to how wholesome this encounter scene was.

Kevin is such a sweetheart. Instead of presents, he just wants to take back all the mean things he said to his family, even if they don’t take back what they said to him. He’ll always love them. Including Buzz, his biggest tormentor. And the fact that he apologises first this time is the cherry on top! 🍒👍

Man! I love how Kate actually knows her son pretty well, despite her neglect towards him. She actually knew where Kevin would be, since she knows he loves Christmas trees. That just proves a mother always knows her baby. 😊

Either it was deleted or not filmed but after this, there was supposed to be a scene where Kate brings Kevin to the penthouse suite where the rest of the family is and they all embrace Kevin. They're all glad he's alright. Buzz tells Kevin that he saved them from Florida. Frank asks Kevin what he did all around the Big Apple by himself and Kevin says he did the same stuff he did last year.
My entire childhood around christmas used to be centered around watching Home Alone and Home Alone 2. I feel like these movies ARE my childhood. I miss them. And time is an awful theif

I just went to Rockafella center and it was so crowded that I couldn’t move. I don’t know what time Kevin got there that there was nobody there but good for him.

The father too, he's never there to apologize for his neglect as well. Kevin has defended the home, the toy store and the children's hospital's Christmas presents. This kid deserves a medal.
