And for Blasio, well I don't know much about him, he apparently does not have a good relationship with New York elites or the press. And he kind of comes across as an arrogant asshole. But I can respect him for implementing police body cams, free universal Pre-K, reduced prosecutions for Cannabis Possession, and ending invasive surveillance programs on Muslims. In terms of past New York Mayors like Bloomberg and Giuliani he seems like an improvement, but I bet he won't get another term.

New York's rent and amenities have been going through the roof which has been the result of neighborhoods being gentrified by rich families. And the reason for decreased police force was because of police corruption and misuse of power, this is part of the reason why Blasio is unpopular within Minority groups for not doing anything about it until it became too late. The increase in crime has been speculated by criminologists to be the result of economic and psychological strain caused by the pandemic, as many poor workers have lost their jobs, some also say civil unrest over police brutality is also a factor in the spike in crime. This is primarily why crimes have been concentrated in poor neighborhoods who desperately are in need of government relief. And you must be out of touch with New Yorkers, the majority of New Yorkers (68%) voted for AOC and she is incredibly popular within the young left leaning generation, not to mention her background as a bartender and not coming from a family of political elites has made her relatable to many working class voters. You are right on one thing the elites don't like her. and even if Blasio's policies are copycat policies some of them are the absolute right step in the right direction, if new jobs can't be created at the rate we hope for at least we can alleviate the cost of things like Pre-K or medicine to lessen the burden for people who work paycheck to paycheck
The crazy thing is how most in politics look down on her when, AOC literally is & can relate to most struggling Americans. Right now I know she must be so upset with the governments lack of response to ppl suffering due to Covid19. Gov took care of Corporations but not us. Hope AOC can be in a position to make a bigger impact on regular Hard working Americans.

Alexandria OCasio Chavez comes from an upper middle class community, attends a bourgeois university and now a member of congress. Wants everyone else to live in poverty. I'd really like to have her life gone through with a fine tooth comb to make sure she lives by the ideology she wants for everyone else. So she can't use a car, fly in a plane, use grid electric power, only purchase local grown foods, no meat, no dairy, no coffee, no tea, no cigarettes, has to wear locally produced domestically sourced earth environmentally friendly clothes, all hygiene, makeup and cleaning supplies environmentally friendly too. Lives in a place that is just big enough for her , is sustainable as well, reduces her pay to a meagre amount and totally lives as she believes we all should. Then I might consider her plan after she's done that for two years. I bet she can't. But all we'll get is her trying to make cutesy faces only really drunk guys with beer goggles find attractive enough to consider dating a bartender.
