Lyrics :
Give me a ticket for an airoplane
I ain't got time to take no fast train
The lonely days are gone
I'll be right home
My baby wrote me a letter
I don't care how much money I've got to spend
I won't find my way back home again
The lonely days are gone
I'll be right home
My baby wrote me a letter
She wrote me a letter
Said she couldn't live with out me no more
Listen to me mister don't you ever ravin'
My baby once more
Anyway
Give me a ticket for an airoplane
I ain't got time to take no fast train
You know ,the lonely days are gone
I'll be back home
My baby wrote me a letter
Piano Solo :
Sax Solo :
Guitar Solo :
She wrote me a letter
Said she couldn't live without me no more
Listen to me mister don't you ever ravin'
And my baby once more
Anyway
Give me a ticket for an airoplane
I ain't got time to take no fast train
The lonely days are gone
I'll be back home
My baby wrote me a letter... - Hudba
One thing Joe Cocker def never slacked on was having a solid, balls to the wall band behind him
When I was little, like far from ten years old, our family used to drive places to see our relatives during the summer, wherever they were. We always had the radio on in the car, usually tuned to somekind of classic rock/pop station that played hits from the fifties onwards. Every time a Joe Cocker song was played, my dad tapped his hands on the wheel and sang with the song, or mimed the singing. When I asked him to stop because it would soon turn into ”embarassing dad”-moment in my eyes, he replied ”just wait ’till you get a bit older son, and you realise why your dad goes ’crazy’ when he listens to these tunes”
Now me, a 24 year old, listens to Joe Cocker on full volume in my apartment, barely keeping my hands and legs still and almost shouting the lyrics as hard as Joe’s singing them...
Guess I now understand what my dad was meaning in the car some twenty years ago
That was awesome and beautiful
I love Joe Cocker's music. Looks like Joe's got some mileage on him....rode hard, hung up wet. This is one of the great rock/blues records of all time.
This man SANG PEOPLE! Soulful and so animated! His background vocalists were absolutely amazing! New school, listen up: THIS IS HOW ITS DONE! 💯👏👏👏👏❣💕🎵🎵
There will never be another Joe Cocker. EVER
I will forever mourn the loss of this great man. But he did bless us with all his special music.
WOW!!!! Vintage Joe . . . . and what a band behind him. Cocker still has it!!!! :-D
Tony Fair the best by far.
He was a Great singer for sure. 👍👍👍👍👍
An incredible voice, that will be sadly missed. R.I.P. Joe Cocker
is true.
Rest in sweet harmony Mr. Joe Crocker. Ic💖n.
Texts are modern day letters.
compliments on the recording - full frequency response, not bass-heavy like so many on youtube. I heard the organ, sax and guitar solos up front where they should be. 'Heard all the drums in the kit and the great ladies singing back up only "twenty feet from stardom." A recording worthy of a great performance.
2014 Portland Oregon, I was there with Joe at the Rose Garden. He sang all the hits! I love his voice its like a Picasso.
Awesome J. C. RIP. I'm 70 still Rock n Roll!!!!!!! Till I Die!!!!!!
Good shit !
This is the best version ive heard. Thanks for posting.
It's good, I like the version on "Mad dogs" from his US tour back in the day (before Leon Russel had white hair) better
He ROCKS! And he can sing.
La conscience professionnelle incroyable des musiciens... Ça envoie du lourd de chez lourd et il y a du "level".
God bless you joe
Joe was GOOD, old enough to remember the early 1970s. What a time. great music. Thanks JOE!
Saw Joe twice. Early 1970's at South Bend Motor speedway with Mad Dogs and Englishmen, and 2003 in Wichita, KS. I sat about 30 feet away and he sang a most perfect set. RIP, Mr.Cocker.
OMG OMG neared rocked me out of my chair!!!!!
Now son see this is what we call real music
I love thisssssssssss...
great Joe, great backup and a great band...holy smokes.
reminding you wrote this.
Amazing Band 👍👍👍Perfect
Yip, I remember his 'Mad dogs and Englishman' tour. Epic stuff with Leon Russell, Claudia Linear and Rita Coolidge. 4:24
Love the singer & the sax player!!!! Guitarist also awesome!!!
What a voice; amazing!
The guitar solo is just amazing, Phil Grande was a great guitarist!
Rubén Cano Montesinos Guitar was the worst part,, the big note bend after the opening flurry of notes was out of time which put the next flurry of notes out of time,, only to end the solo with a 3rd flurry of notes,,, it was a garage band 101 guitar solo
@@cantina00 Gene Wilder can only spread his talents so far.
Saw Joe and his Mad Dogs and Englishmen at the King Mojo Club, Sheffield, UK many years ago - brilliant performer - this guy got a lot of soul
Vale crack

From the March 17, 1970 album. Old timer is TIMELESS. They did not make millions they made MUSIC. New generation this should be your 'New Music'. Explore the past. You will be well-serve.

Joe Cocker nunca decepciona.!!!
Joe was the best and he got better with age lk
Remember the JOE COCKER "SO WHAT" album:
yes, this is music. and Mr. Cocker knows that a cowbell in the band adds a little extra, not that he needs any, because he has The Voice. and Mr. Stainton is there playing piano, which always improves a band. wonderful seeing these gentlemen perform. thanks for the upload.
Tom, that was Leon Russell on the piano
ColbyJack05 No that is Chris Stainton.
Madre mía .....
Impresionante la guitarra...
Y por supuesto Joe Cocker no defrauda nunca.!!

The ... Letter !!
Beautiful music!
The music is physically flowing through him
They used the best of the Leon Russell arrangement with a kick butt band and backup singers (and no exhausted Joe). He was in great form in 1992. A pleasure to see and hear.
La voz tan unica 🎶🎶🎶👍
