Less than four years ago myself and my colleagues worked through the COVID period for everyone in this country putting our families and ourselves at great risk and putting Royal Mail back into a sizeable profit and now this British Institution is in massive debt by complete mismanagement ,what about the fantastic workers,many been there for years, where will it leave them in six months , twelve months time ,low pay , zero hour contact's, no future, it's a complete disgrace however they dress it up .
Then they need to drop the Royal title, renationalising it

I used to work for Royal Mail in a management role. I took redundancy several years ago as I was not willing to accept a paycut. The company was been asset stripped and had long been very inefficient.

Frankly I couldn't care less. Dave Ward and his CWU cronies weren't bothered about the plight of Liverpool workers at the Bootle Santander site in 2022. Many of us made redundant when Santander shut Bootle. Sent jobs to Milton Keynes, Sunderland, Dagenham and India. Dave Ward couldn't be bothered to come up to Bootle and fight for our jobs. He's only bothered about his P.R. as regards getting on T.V. and Royal Mail picket lines. The smaller companies have never mattered to the CWU. Yet they took our subs every month. Absolutely useless union.

The only mail i get from royal mail is junk mail and when i used them to get parcels delivered i never got my items when they were supposed to arrive and at times they never arrived at all.
There are better options available and because we have an option to get letters and such sent by email which we can then print at home if needed then the postal service just isnt needed as much as they think.
The service from royal mail has been atrocious for years and considering the other foreign influences happening around the UK, this really isnt a surprise.
Daniel Kretinsky may be beneficial for royal mail but i do agree with others that the `royal` part of the name should be removed.

Weird to watch those to the Right of politics, finally start admitting that the Left were correct about nationalising key utilities. Why? Because once those assets are sold off for short term gain, it's very difficult for us to buy it all back. And whatever money that business makes, goes out of the country. We are increasingly bankrolling European and US companies, strengthening their economies, and weakening ours.

who gets letters anymore. I get 2 a month.... All you need is the odd bill. Bank Statements digital. What else do people need? Most stuff that is delivered is junk that goes in the bin..... if everyone just cancelled their junk mail subscriptions mail volumes would drop 50%+
Equity or "investment group" ownership has never benefited the company only the board members and top-tier management. There is a lot of money to be made by robbing all cash, selling off assets, then shutting it down. Only in this case the British taxpayer would have to bail it out and take it over again.
Gov needs to intervene and stop sell.

@@rgsnr8702I’m a post man in Scotland. It’s not posties doing this, Royal Mail mail centres will hold some mail for a whole week before it’s released it’s ridiculous. We get told if there’s one letter, wait until it piles up to 5/10 letters before we deliver to save costs. I myself always take it even if it’s just one, so I know they get it when they should. Who knows could be hospital letters or letters about serious issues. So at least it can’t come back to me.
