My best advice is get a saddle bag an learn to change an inner tube, been a Yr since I did a full ironman an saw alot of people fixing punctures, without a saddle bag an kit you can cost yourself the entire event 🤜🤜
A revised pacing statergy and invest in your footwear for a full ironman will put you in a great position

Theo, absolutely smashed it! I'm a triathlete as well, done many olympic triathlons and plan to do my first 70.3 next year. One rec though - maybe get a tri bike for your next race! Its better suited for triathlons than road bikes and more aerodynamic. Also, speeding up the transitions can help as well (e.g. no socks for the bike, mounting the bike shoes on the bike like this you dont have to walk awkwardly with the cleats to the bike and do a flying mount, etc.) Wish you the best on your next race and happy training! Transitions don't matter in iron man mate ahahaha. Quicker to have socks than save 5 secs in transition
@@peterholmes2364 ive done 100k on the bike without socks, there are shoes which allow for this but yes you have a point
Probably only needs tribars tbh, his bike looks pretty peng already!
@@peterholmes2364 100%. Once you go into half and ironman territory things likes socks and flying mounts are best left to the top end or people really eking out the last seconds off a PB.
@@Bargee123 Definitely you need clip on aero bars. Gives you about 10% speed/less effort. Not sure it is easy to get clip on aerobars for the flat/aero handle bar on this bike though so may not be an option.
Strange feeling when finishing an 70.3 with thinking, "now I would have to do the second half, to complete a full". I did 3x 70.3 now registered for full next year.

Hey Theo super inspiring video, I remember when my dad did his first triathlon 10 years ago, since then he’s now coming up on his 10th Ironman. When he started he never imagined getting this far but I truly believe you will get that far too Theo, your work ethic is a true inspiration to all of us. Fantastic job!!!
I did a half marathon this past year in honor of my mom who passed in 2020. I broke down crying so much when I finished. This just made me reflect on that moment.
I would actually love to see Theos training or how hes designing that. I am a triathlete myself and its always nice to see other people enjoy the sport, even though this type of content might not be suited for this channel.

Why am I crying? Amazing achievement. I finished my first marathon and balled my eyes out. It’s just amazing how our bodies can be pushed to the absolute limits. Absolutely inspiring, I feel so empowered after watching this video. Should be so proud of yourself, what an achievement.

Hey Theo, Just wanted to say congratulations 1st off. Remarkably, you pulled it off, you genuinely have the mindset of a hyper athlete and I believe you will be able to eventually do a full Ironman. 2nd I've been on a struggle lately trying to decide what I should do next year as a sport going into Uni and even though I am not sure if I can pull it off you have just inspired me to get into triathlons and hopefully in a few years if you still doing an Ironman I would love to have the privilege to race with you and meet you.

Fantastic achievement! I'm more into running, so I'm currently training for marathons. Maybe some trail running in the future..who knows. I can however not imagine combining three sports and excelling in all three. Really inspiring!

Great effort! Would be great to see you next year in Sweden for the Vätternrundan, one of the oldest bicycle races there is, 315km around the beautiful lake of Vättern up and down the hills and along the country roads.
Les Sables is a really good 70.3 to do for a first one. Well done on finishing.
Especially good for a weaker swimmer as you get a decent assist from the flow of the water up the canal.
