No quantizing was used in these videos. Track was done in one take, no cuts or editing. There are no samples on the snare or toms, they are all natural.
Pearl Masterworks drums, natural bubinga fade finish.

First off, I can't understand ANY downvotes, but you have to account for the mentally/aurally dead.
That said, listen mate, I am an old Opeth fan, I couldn't believe their mastery of multiple shades of extreme music, and the ability to marry light and dark.
Then they disappeared up the ass of Mike's mid-to-late 70's rock childhood, never to be seen again. I WAS DISTRAUGHT. No more "April Ethereal"s, and such magics.
Now I found you lads. Those riffs. That violin. The duality of your singers. The way you paint with music. It's like a death metal Yes. And you, mate, your kit work is a treat. Soft to hard/fast, use of the kit, tasteful fills/choices. Footwork/speed. Stop on a dime patterning.

You and I are much alike. Opeth was my favorite band, and now so is Ne Obliviscaris. I saw them live in Bellingham, WA about six years ago. I talked to a few of them and they are extremely humble guys. They don't let their talent get to their head, at all.

If each of Dan's drumming (with NeO) was a kind of food, I'd would have eaten it 7days a week, 30 days a month, fuck everything else, 365 days a year. It's quite impossible and simultaneously mind-boggling to describe the fact that just how tasteful an (and almost all of his works) Extreme Metal drumming can be.

Yeah, there's some reverb in there. Sickdrummer just posted a play through of him, there's an interlude in the middle of the song and the reverb on the snare is oooofff.
I watch this atleast twice a day I swear xD I like to tap my feet along gotta get them hipflexors moving hah!

Two questions one how do you memorize those parts? Two when you do fast traditional blast beats i noticed when you hit the right hi hat you go more towards the middle and it sounds a little different is that your idea? Really cool song by the way
1. I just practice the songs a lot I guess 2. Yea I hit different parts of hi hats to get different sounds

Incredible video and great song. The only minus is in the imperfection of structure; of course, I know how hard it is to make such a long song, but at 11:10 it just stops and the next part is kind of unconnected. Otherwise, the song is almost perfect, close to the level of first album songs.
