  • This steel snare drum offers a bright tone with a tight crispness in high-tuning and a smooth resonance in low-tuning. A 1.2mm matte black steel shell is processed to have a ridge on the center of the shell as reinforcement. The color of the shell hardware is matched to the matte black shell.

I believe this snare drum is the snare that John Dolmayan uses in "Chop Suey" by System Of A Down. It is a TAMA, so that is the first sign. It is also very high pitched, much like the snare used in that song. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sounds awfully close.
Also love this snare! Very high pitched but I like it.

I really tought they all used that classic Tama Bell brass snare, it was used in many recordings, even with drummer that dont play tama, Nirvana album, Rage Agaisnt the Machine and more.

I really doubt he used this model... it seems so cheap for a metal snare. And I guess it wasn't even manufactured at that time. I mean, it's cool, but not a pro equipment

(If you don't mind I will tell my beautiful tale of this snare and how I want to purchase it badly.) This snare is RIGHTEOUS! I went to Sam Ash to by some new sticks, and of course, couldn't
ignore the drum kits that sat before me. I first played a Pearl Stage Custom. Its' toms sounded BEAUTIFUL but the snare sounded like a fucking plastic bag put over a trash can from dollar tree,
so I was slightly pissed (I love Pearl drums.) I was going to ATTEMPT to play this blue DDrum (I think it was) kit, but that thing's heads were amongst the quality of dogshit in my backyard, the
snare sounded like (this time) if you took a Ziplock bag and stretched it over a fucking coconut split in half. Then, I made my way to the electronic kits, not noticing that black Tama kit. I first
went to the drum kit I have right now (Alesis Nitro Mesh) and it didn't turn on (freaking a) Next, I discovered the o'mighty Roland Electronic Drum V-Drum TD-SomeShitThatMakesYouBroke. It
had a functioning hi-hat stand, the module sounds were cool, and the ride cymbal actually had a BELL rather than hitting the cymbal with great force (Alesis, what the hell?) So then, I went back
out to the acoustic room, and then saw the Tama kit. I was like, "This better not be shitty" and made my way to it. It had a double bass petal that didn't work. That was a bad first impression. I
checked out the toms next. They were nice, but sounded "fruity." I am more of a like deeper pitched tom guy. I gave it the "Wipeout" test and the "Zoot Suit Riot" Test, and shit. So that was strike
two. It had, from what I remember, Sabian Brass Cymbals. They sounded pretty good, so no strike three yet. I tried the main pedal on the double bass, and... it worked. It sounded like a damn
cannon, so that was another pretty good element. Finally, I tried this snare. And... fucking coconut with bagg- HEY! The snares are off. I then flipped them on, and I struck it...
It was the best sound I ever heard from a snare drum.
I gave it a cross-stick, rimshot, whatever the hell you wanna call it, and it was the most CRISP sound EVER.
Anyways, that is story of a beautiful snare I recommend. Mixed feelings are spread, but if you are like me (and like high-pitched snare drums), I recommend this snare.
(Also here, I will say it for you: Who the HHHEEELLL Asked?)

Seriously? There are tons of snares that could sound way better then this one, this one is a really cheap option. Of course that with a proper tuning all snares could sound decent. Maybe you were really unlucky trying stuff from a store

@@hugorezende199 Honestly the fact that it is cheap really seals the deal. Yeah, I might buy this snare, and I'm sure how decent those stock heads are. Wouldn't I have been lucky at the store because I stumbled apon a decent snare drum at a fucking store (aka childrens playground for no reason)?

is the SLP vintage hammered steel better than these metal works?🥁

    • @SgtPnkks
      @SgtPnkks Před 3 lety +1

yes... it's all the little things that make a difference... now if you prefer a low as possible tuning the metalworks is 8 lug while the slp is 10 so the tension rods will be looser on low tunings with the 10lug
