Yep. And I pulled a Ken Griffey Jr out of a pack of Upper Deck baseball cards in 1989. It was 1990 Upper Deck. Not his rookie card. But that card changed my life. I followed Griffey for literally his entire career. My favorite player ever. EVER.
I got to see him play. It was MAGICAL. it's like Jr knew I was there. Went 3-4 with 2 doubles, 3 rbi, 2 runs scored. It was one of the best days of my entire life.
As a grown man, I cried when he made the Hall of Fame. And I ain't scared to admit it. It was INCREDIBLE.

I respect him for his decision of putting his own interests and principles over money, and it wasn't that decision that kept him from the world series. The Mariners did. The Mariners through the late 90s and early 2000s were the dominant team of the American league. Poor managing along with some front office blunders, doomed what i thought could've been a dynasty. So, at the end of the session fter getting many autographs I asked a healthy young man if I could get his autograph. He said "I think you already got me." I was nervous and not sure and said "Can I getyou again?"
