The “i cut down the shoulders a little on my second round because these belong to the fire nation” killed me lmfao
Oh wow, I *love* how the exaggerated shoulders help to really pull off Alastor's silhouette 😍
the timing of this upload is amazing bc i JUST bought that pattern like 2 weeks ago, and as a visual learner this makes me so happy, thank you ! :'))
Oh wow that's actually funny. I'm in the same boat .
Thanks from me too.
thank you so so SOOO much for posting this ;; the vague instructions about the yoke back sent me spiraling for a solid day before i found this video :,) you’re the best, thank you
You have no idea how much I appreciate you for this video. I bought the exact same pattern and I was terrified to start especially since the pattern is not in English, thank you so so much
I could have never completed this without your video. Thank you!!!
What a compliment!!! I’m so glad this was helpful 🥰
Omg thank you for this. I’m making this cosplay for a school event and I got stuck on the lapel stand part for so long sob😢
I'm 15 minutes into this video and I've realised I've messed up so much in the process of making my mock! Gonna have to cut out A LOT of thread for this bad boy!
There's more than one way to do this too! This just happens to be how I got there. Don't worry, I messed up a lot the first time and still struggled through this second round D=
OMG thank you so much!! I've been struggling for some weeks now on how to sew this piece, while creating the wig and accessories! And I actually wanted to do the NEON version, as a purple lover (and asexual, too)💟 to differentiate from the usual full red hazbin cosplayers crowd. So really, I am truly and eternally grateful for this🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️
I have been waiting for this! I'm making this coat for a friend and she needs it TONIGHT.
I'm con crunching for her!
Oh gosh, it's a hard one to do on a crunch - may the odds be ever in your favor!!!
I’ve been putting off assembling this pattern for I think 2 months now because my mind was turning into a pretzel. Thank you for the very detailed tutorial.
You make it look so easy.
I just got the pattern, as I couldn't figure out how to do the wings.
Anyway, thanks for this tutorial/walkthrough, it will surely come in handy when my ADHD kicks in again and I begin trying this out.
Thank you thank you thank you! I just bought this pattern yesterday and have been puzzling through it off and on all day; I've got most of it but there's still a few places where I'm stumped so this video is just what I needed!
As owner of studio I wanted to tell massive thank you 😭😭 we were struggling so much as our schedule is overload and we weren’t able to make detailed tutorial, and I am so grateful!! Won’t you mind if we also gonna share your video within our platforms?
I mean link, not video separately 👉🏼👈🏼
I adore you and this pattern is magnificent. Thank you for the kind words, you are welcome to do whatever you like with this!! Thank you for making such a wonderful pattern 💗
You are amazing for this thank you!! I bought the pattern and not the actual coat because I personally also wanted the shoulders to not be as dramatic. Lol
You literally saved me with this, I kiss your heart
Thank you so much for this
thank you so much for making this i needed a tutorial so badly and this helps a ton
You really are a godsent (or hellsent) I just bought the pattern went to the Instagram page from fd hoping that there will be a video and there you pop up!
Ich bin dir so dankbar! ❤
omg yes!! thanks for this!
Exquisite. Precisely what I need to begin my rein over hell. 😈
I LOVE YOUUUU
8:08 kitty!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm working on the outfit as well and I have a question! After printing and taping all the pieces of the paper patterns together, do I have to cut the 1cm outline of the patterns? There is a line in the guide about doing just so, but I'm a little anxious if I understood it correctly, since the guide has a few unclear parts. Thanks in advance!
It includes the 1cm seam allowance!
I’m so confused. It looks like the lapel only has one edge but later in the vid it skips to having two? I’m having alot of trouble with the lapel and collar bits
Thanks for the video! I am currently looking at the pattern on my laptop and I am wondering what tips you would have for printing the pattern, I was reading over the how to file the pattern comes with and I don't quite understand the instructions when it comes to printing. This is my first time ever sewing something myself so I really am just slightly confused.
I actually used a laser cutter for mine. Otherwise you will need to print on poster paper or lots of letter paper sizes that you tape together 😅
What width would you recommend for the pinstripes????
looking for an working alustor staff no luck
Whyyyyy didn’t you know how the collar gets attached! I am struggling on that last bit and it seems skipped over 😭 amazing help on everything else though
I know, I've failed everyone on that haha. I'm so sorry, here's my recommendation! basting stitch it to one side first to get a feel for where it should be placed, and then sew it between the lining and main material with the understanding that you may have to pick out some stitches to get it placed perfectly where the ends of the collar meet with the lapel. It takes a little finessing...I just totally forgot to record or lost that clip :(
at 16:33 what parts are you sewing together?
Wait you skipped a lot of steps how did you get the color on?
The pinstriping? I didn't show sewing it on, but I did say in the video that you can either use heat and bond or sew the stripes onto the jacket -- I had to do a lot of this by hand, and it's easiest to do the placements after you've sewed together a majority of the outside parts of the fabric.
Did I miss it or did you not show how you attach the collar? 😢
You did not miss it - I apparently didn't hit 'record' for it :( At 27:07 I mention that this is the time I add the collar. You should attach the collar stand in the same way you do the lapel stand, and then you sandwich the collar between your lining and outer fabric before sewing everything together. When you turn everything right-side out, the collar will be attached. You will just need to line up the stands where they meet *very carefully* and do a topstitch over lapel and collar stand once it's assembled.
@@PlexiCosplay too bad qq could really use the visualization
Blud whats with women wanting to be guys as a cosplay
Oh, I don't want to be a guy. I just really enjoy the costume and crafting it. Don't worry, I do plenty of femme presenting characters as well.
thank you so much for this! so so helpful and also a huge thank you for including captions 🫶
When you say polyester ridgeline, what material are you using for it? Boning or?
Yes! I use sew-in boning
